95.9 The Big DAWG plays Classic Country & New Country-Genuine Country Gold features music from 1985-1995, plus newer country hits and the classic country hits too!  WICL-FM plays a REAL COUNTRY VARIETY!!

On Weekends, They have Classic Country Programs such as Country Gold With Randy Owen, Retro Country USA, & The Country Oldies Show- Classic Country from 1950s-1980s!!

This station is trying to fill the hole left by 92.1 going CHR. 92.1's problem was it was too old and didn't modernize into the 90s to keep the demo sellable.

But the problem I see with 95.9 is some of the newer music....station should NOT be playing any "crossover" type country from today. No Carrie Underwood. No Taylor Swift. No Lady A.  Unless the sound has a more "traditional" sound to it.  Stay focused on the 90s through 2004 with a little sprinkling of the 80s.  Be significantly different than AYZ.

The other issue....is 95.9 supposed to be a Flanker to bring AYZ down? I would understand that strategy if LTF was a real player. But they're not.

Seltzer, I agree, they've gotta swap the newer stuff for more 80's stuff, and even 70's. Not sure you can use the same timeframes used on the pop side for Classic Hits and get away with it. Gotta be more obvious. FWIW, I don't think anyone slaps an A up against a B+ like WAYZ expecting to take them down. More likely they were just looking for a logical opening in Hagerstown and found one. If it makes a few more bucks than 60's-70's Oldies, then it's a win.

In the past, LTF was always a player in Hagerstown (Washington County)--just not in Chambersburg (Franklin County). Probably still the case, since it's a signal thing. If they're pulling a 4-something in the metro, it's an 7.9 to the south and a 0.1 to the north.

HZ, Country Legends is a copyrighted/trademarked format produced by a consultant who IIRC consults WAYZ. If they're not gonna do it in your area, it ain't happening. Find a Country Legends station that streams, so you can listen to it that way. No sense beating a dead horse.
