Yikes!!

Does anyone really think Randy will get different investors after this debacle?  The would have to be the stupidest investors not looking for any ROI... hey, maybe the federal government is interested.

Just as we just got an Alternative Rock station they have to sell it?! Why?! I say sell it to Citadel make it Alternative as New Rock still or sell it to Greater Media or Entercom or Pamal. They just changed formats too and I heard they were adding DJs in October and slowly transitioning it to just NYC.
Citadel is Cumulus now. They could sell to Cumulus or GM and expect it to stay Alternative. Well, maybe Cumulus.

Cumulus owns CYY in Portland so they have experience.

If RXP goes out again, why not bring back Smooth Jazz and bring the WQCD call letters back and call it "CD 101.9" again. I would love to see Smooth Jazz coming Back to NYC.

If it is, remember three letters: C-B-S.

They would likely sell-off WINS-1010, and would use 101.9 to either:

(1) Move WINS to FM ("1019-Wins"?), or, more likely,

(2) Use it to simulcast WFAN-660 or move WFAN to FM and have the CBS Sports Radio Network go 24/7 on 660.

Three letters also spring to mind: C-O-X.

They own stations on Long Island, and currently own no stations in NYC. They could buy up all three NYC stations with uncertain futures. (WFME, WBAI, WRXP), and attempt to break into the market. They could sell their stations currently for sale (CT and Richmond, for example) to offset the costs.

Bad news for Family Radio if true.  Who's going to want 94.7 when 101.9 is available?

94.7 isn't on the market as of yet.  As a matter of fact, they just bought 950 AM in Philadelphia.  Perhaps their situation has stabilized and 94.7 stays as-is for the time being.

It's not going to happen. In fact, today's top headline at the new Radio-Info site is, PPM Killing Smooth Jazz...

HERE is the long version if you care to read the reasons behind it, but suffuice to say nobody is going to try putting that format back onto a commercial FM frequency in New York at this point.

Randy has been involved in a series of "debacles," the most recent being Tribune.  Yet people continue to invest in him.

The interesting part of the story, according to AllAccess, is that Randy seems to be missing.  But the licenses are held by Merlin, not the investment company.  So the investment company can't sell the license, just their stake in Merlin.

If it is for sale, make it a dance station!   Angry  For once, can someone attempt the format right, or bring the Pulse on 101.9!  Something!!
