Iheart Radio Overnights
« on: October 11, 2012, 04:45:40 AM »

Can anyone tell me why Clear Channel airs best ofs of popular morning shows (Elvis Duran, Kane Show, Bob & Tom) overnights on the Iheart radio app. I mean I like Elvis, but I'd rather listen to Shelky Wade when I'm driving to work at 4am.

Simple answer: They give options.

None of those shows are my cup of tea, but CC likes to have dedicated replay streams for some of their higher-profile personalities and shows. So, if you want to listen to AT40 or Delilah anytime you want, there is that option. And you can always listen to Shelly Wade on the Z100 stream live at 4AM.

I only listen to a handful of streams on IHR (like KCRW, WDAS-AM and a few others), but I know that the other streams have their own distinct audiences.

Why wouldn't they give their biggest shows their own channel on Iheart? You never have to miss Elvis Duran, Kane, Bob & Tom, Elliot out of DC, etc. Some people who don't work mornings or can't hear the show and can listen anytime. It's like Radio On Demand. What clear channel has done with Iheart is amazing like the company or not.
