If you're within range (I'd imagine anything west of Bellevue would do) try listening to WDKN on 1260, and then to their translator on 101.5.  And notice something interesting.  Apparently it's not interesting *all* the time, but often enough you'll notice it soon enough.

Very proud of my little hometown station, WDKN.
Glad to see the commitment of the people who work there in a world where satellite, padora, smartphones and ipods seem to be the medium of choice.

For those of us who can't pick it up, would you mind telling us what it is?

I wish I lived where I could pick this up. I wish more stations would focus on local community, rather that pretending to be an ipod with commercials.

The Crumulus and Cheap Channels of the world could learn a lot by studying this station. This is what radio needs to get back to. They can keep their canned premium choice i-pod programming. WDKN is the REAL deal. Glad they are streaming so I can listen in East Tn.  Spent 30 years in the business and got sick of what I saw it becoming. Got out in 05.

I noticed while watching the news story that the station appears to be very well engineered for a small market station. This is not your "average" small market AM.....
Congrats to the folks who run it and to the community it serves.

Great job by WDKN.  Even before the new owners, always loved this station.  But they have taken it to another level.  Congratulations!
