I actually wish satellite and cable companies would make the music channels optional.
Some do, in my area it is basic with Comcast, but not with Atlantic Broadband.
I liked accessing them directly from a TV without the need for a "box".
ESPN adds over $4 to everyone's cable bill whether you watch it or not; it's time for "a la carte" cable so you can pay for the 6 channels you watch and not the 250 you don't watch, or music service option as well.
You are right, and most people would welcome this approach.
Unfortunately the charge would then be about eight dollars per channel that you want.
Why not just lock out the channels you don't watch and pretend you only have the ones you do, in effect, that is already the case.
