The Hit Kicker to Nash-FM?
« on: January 24, 2013, 07:40:39 PM »

Cumulus Media recently started up a new automated national country music format called Nash-FM. It's been big news in the New York City area after debuting on a recently bought Cumulus station there (the first country music station in NYC in 17 years). It's intended to be used nationwide on most Cumulus owned country stations and whoever else may want to use the service. Anyone think WHKR might become one of them?

Is it a Cumulus station?  If so, then yes.  That has been the stated goal.

The writings on the wall. Their TOH id now includes the phrase  "powered by NASH, country for life" in it. I hope the folks there at Hibiscus Blvd have their resumes updated.

Nash-FM in NYC has now some local talent on air so it's not "as" automated as you say.

Second.. It's a branding for their country stations.. NOT all of their Country FMs are going to go run syndicated formatting now because of the new brand..  Those stations keeping their own identity tag their legal ID with "powered by NASH, country for life"  The stations keeping their own identity will use some Nash elements such as concert promotions, interviews, giveaways, etc..
