Adelante Media Group launches "New Latino"
« on: February 18, 2013, 03:24:45 PM »

The announcement was made about a week ago, and Adelante has apparently already made the switch at its owned stations (although syndication is still to come).  Essentially, the company's Spanish-language CHR format has given way to a "bicultural, bilingual" one.

I love how this is heralded as a breakthrough.

The first station on the US mainland to play both English and Spanish hits and to speak both English and Spanish was WQBA-FM, "Súper Q" in Miami... in 1977.
