I've been pretty busy and conditions have not warranted themselves for FM DX the past few days, but some free-time this morning and discovered the change rather late.  KNOE-FM/FM 102 got much listening from me back in the early 1980's when the "weather was right" (tropo enhancement) while growing up in Lincoln County AR.  A much better "Mix" of top 40 on FM 102 than what KKYK (103.7) Little Rock AR did with that' stations tight playlist.

I just tried listening again, and, although I like the music, it just sounds drab, or maybe it's the presentation that is boring, is not exciting to listen to, more like background sound.

Dave, it just may not be your cup of tea.  I have not had a single negative comment from an Urban listener since we started.  The Facebook inbox is flooded with positive comments and the people outside of the metro are very happy to have an R&B station.  For instance, Nachitoches has really embraced us.  Oddly enough, I get tons of comments from Alexandria too, which is unusual since they have an Urban and a UAC.  My streaming stats have tripled since the change.
