Kiss FM.......really?
« on: March 03, 2013, 09:40:14 PM »

So I know I am not a SD resident but I do listen to Kiss on my iHeart app ever since I lost my station 93.9 MIA (Miami)

I have been loving this station as it featured way more classic dance hits than i've ever heard before.......until this weekend. Here we go again...Has anyone else noticed how CC has tweeked this station? Over the last weekend they started adding more and more modern dance songs and now they sound to have dropped some of the good classics and replaced them with Tired Cruz....really?

Now it sounds like MIA did just before they started messing it up because it "wasn't working".....at least they gave MIA 2 years before they started editing the playlist....sounds like that gave KISS about a month.

This is why radio is having the issues it has these days...come on CC!!!! Stop messing with stuff, give it a chance to be NOTICED before you run off and change it.

Now, don't get me wrong....I'm still listening and I very much like this but....hearing the same songs play 2 sometimes 3 times in the same weekend is very annoying....and yes i know it has happened, i just heard sir mix a lot....guess what? Played yesterday too...around the SAME TIME...

let's keep it original guys....don't mess up a good thing before it's even had a chance to "shine"

my two cents.....

The change in KISS might have alot to do with the fact that they let go of the Ops manager/PD of KISS and now after a month they have a new Ops manager that believes the station needs to go in a different direction (which is what all ops managers do to justify their job is change as much as possible).

Or, more likely, they did the change using a "safe list" until such time that they could do a local  music test and implement it.

Since doing music tests between Thanksgiving and the New Year is difficult, and there is considerable demand later in January, they may not have gotten around to testing until the middle of last month or so...

What ever they are doing they got XHRM to giveaway 500 dlls an hour which equals 4 grand a day! With Jaeger and Kristi on payroll how long can a station formally known as Finest City Broadcasting keep throwing out money like that?

Are they actually giving away that much or are they just providing opportunities to win once an hour?

Speaking of J&K - who does have the most popular San Diego morning shows in the money demos?  I assume Jeff and Jer must be doing okay since one of them recently told me they had new three year contract.

25-54 is KFMB-FM, KPBS, KLNV, KPRI and KYXY as the top 5.

18-34 is KIOZ, KPRI, KSON, XHTZ, KHTS

Wow...big a.m. changes with Chip and Ladonna, fresh blood for Kiss coming one figures and DSC must be getting rattled about now. Their old station KGB they proudly trashed is beating them some places or sneaking up. Seems they are going up and DSC And Jack are losing steam. Don't get me wrong they still matter, but like J&J, I never hear about them. King Dave's ego must be frying! Rock1053 has put a big dent in mornings. Maybe the big ego's karma is paying a visit in a mac truck. How is Walrus, and hey can anyone tell me what happened with cindy Pace? Thanks

Poor Dave, gotta be tough being number one in adult numbers in the morning and having to worry about if KGB will ever again show up in the top 5.  Roll Eyes

Umm radio darn, they are Top 5. Apparently you haven't seen ratings lately. Thats the point, they have been strong as hell across the board, and did it without being jerks.
