The worst commercials in TV history..

Almost all commercials that run during "The Price Is Right" are about elderly problems. Scooter-stores, medicare, medicaid, good lord. If this show is committed to dying, then they are on the right track. Perhaps there are some younger viewers watching, and there are certainly younger folks trying to be contestants, but if I hear that one old guy yelling about how he is a prisoner in his own home one more time, I will permanently turn to The View. And that will be the end of me, without the scooter.

It's the one thing I don't get -- many of the contestants on TPIR are college students and young adults, but its commercial load slants very heavily toward elderly people who are either sick or invalid.

If the show is attracting young folks to Television City in Hollywood, why do the people buying ad time think that only seniors in nursing homes are watching the show. It makes as much sense as a 60 year old farmer in the middle of Nebraska watching Soul Train.

Neilsen doesn't measure multiple non-related occupant places like frat houses

Sometimes, my grandmother in Yakima, in the middle of farming activity watches TPiR.

Speaking of bad ads, just saw an ad for the Nissan Versa. Bad, bad, bad. Terrible song and stupid graphics with young adults riding in the cars enjoying it.

Which practically shows how flawed Nielsen is these days. CBS could show reruns of "Jersey Shore" at 10AM before TPIR, and there would be nothing but ads for Depend, Medicare, scooters and funeral insurance.

I don't have a "worst commercial" today - just wanted to point out that this thread has thus far run 33 'pages' (or whatever they are called). I don't know if that's a record, but I bet it's close. It's clear that annoying commercials really get under peoples' skins.

I'm sure this thread will be bumped up a few more times--and more pages added--with NFL season starting on Thursday night and all of the commericals worthy of this thread that will be unveiled during the season.

Deion Sanders. Fly swatter. 'Nuff said. ;D

Another stupid ad: The Kia Soul ads with the hamsters. Just saw one with the hamsters dancing along to Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO; really stupid seeing them dance in the car.

Actually, I liked the "Hamsterdam Avenue" sign in the prior Kia Soul ad . . .

Is it me or do you also think that it was tasteless and inappropriate for that AT&T commercial with the flash mobster in the crowded train station--which I saw early in the Bears-Falcons game on Fox--to air on this the 10th anniversary of 9/11? ??? ??? The ad was already worthy of this list anyway--even before we had to see it on 9/11/11. I apologize for linking to this but anyway here's that commercial through YouTube so you can make the call:

Also EXCELLENT 9/11 tribute commercials during NFL coverage today--the State Farm ad with the New York City schoolchildren and the Budweiser tribute ad.

You hit a sore point with me on this flash mob train station commercial.

First, it was moderately humorous the first 10 times I saw it. Then not so humorous the next 50 times I saw it. Now it is an instant tune-out as it is NOT FUNNY ANYMORE. Yet, it continues to play over and over and over.

As for 9/11, yeah I agree not the best day to play it, but obviously the ad agency in conjunction with the client don't give a rat's ass, as long as they beat this stupid commercial into the ground. BTW thanks for reminding me it was AT&T commercial. I really hadn't even noticed that.

Couldn't tell you the product, only that some idiot is repeating AAAAAAAAAAA for something or other, and it is by far the worst, if not one of the worst of all.

What's the connection between this ad and 9/11? I'm not connecting the dots here.

???

Other than the fact that they both involve New York City, I see no connection myself.

I'm not sure I completely understand the connection either, other than 9/11 involved not only the Twin Towers, but the subway stations below. A bit of a stretch. My post was mainly in agreement that the AT&T train station flash mob commercial is inane. (Just realized this is in "classic tv", probably these posts should move to "national tv", but I digress.)

I also can't stand the Arby's "It's Good Mood Food" ads with the Hank Williams Jr. wannabe singing that phrase at the end of every ad.

Personally, I like those commercials, but that guy doesn't look or sound like Hank.

It came on again last evening. Shame on FedEx.
