WPHT announcement tomorrow morning 10/15 at 7:30 AM ET

am1210 Philllly has been poorly managed for many years. Hard to imagine why cbs has not been
able to do better there.
But----there are other stations that have been poorly managed. ( WWKB, CKLW, WOR, KABC, WMAL, etc.)
I'm sure others could be included on that list too.

I have a feeling that WPHT will announce tomorrow that Rush and Hannity are back on the station, the only thing is that Hannity will air on tape delay, which I don't agree with and Dick morris will remain where he is. WPHT should have moved Dick Morris show to another time so that Hannity can air live, which is the smart thing to do but BigJimmy is right, 1210 is just poorly run and its sad. 6 hours of local talk gone because of Rush and Hannity. 1210 is doing things to chase away listeners, not gaining them.

I don't get the point of Hannity on tape so they can air Dick Morris live. Is he really "local" in any sense other than being physically present (is he physically present)? I'm not even sure. Does he talk about any local topics? Doesn't he basically say the same thing Hannity says, only not as well?

I just wish they would put Coast to Coast AM on 7 days a week from 1am until 5am with no infomercials, interruptions and just plain trash shows to interrupt the show. Last night they were on at 1am and the topic after 1:30 was going to be very interesting and guess what, after the break an infomercial came on, so I had to tune to WWVA a bit down the dial and struggle to hear the rest of the show, either keep the show in its entirety or unload it to another station...

Dick mostly does the shows via ISDN and R'nel is at 1210 studios.

That I agree with. 1210 should clear all hours of this show or just drop it and give it to maybe 990.

Well, from

Marc Rayfield, WPHT senior vice president and market manager:

"I cannot confirm nor deny the rumor that Rush will be rejoining WPHT in late October. Currently, he is under contract by another company," Rayfield wrote in an email. "However, if and or when he becomes available, I think it's fair to say that we have interest. What team wouldn't want Cliff Lee in their starting rotation?"

Well, maybe a team run by ideologically insensate boors, but fortunately they're too busy flooding this board with twaddle to run radio stations.

Picking up Hannity and Limbaugh is like scrambling to loot the rooms as the Titanic sinks. It's a shame to lose anything local but understandable for CBS to want to pick up the folks who want to hear Limbaugh & Hannity simply because "ZOMG they're the greatest and they speak the TRUTH and if you think otherwise you've been brainwashed by the liberal media you hippie commie socialist!". It'd be great to see CBS throw their weight around now that they went UP AGAINST Hannity & Limbaugh, saw them tank, and have the power to let them fall by the wayside as they maintain a local talk lineup. But hey, after all, this is 2013 conglomerate radio. Originality & creativity have gone the way of AM Stereo.

Man, do I miss the days when shock-jockery was less political. But as of now, Hannity & Limbaugh are the best in the game, right? After all, they're nationally syndicated!

But hey, what do I know? I'm just a 20-something craving local talk radio to listen to that isn't the sports page 24/7. Guess I'll stick to my SIRIUS/XM app.

Yes, they did. Rush Limbaugh is returning and Sean Hannity will air at 9PM, six hours after his live broadcast. All the airshifts will be shortened to three hours to make room for Rush. I had a feeling this was the big announcement. He begins October 28. I would imagine WWIQ will be in their new format at this time. Underwhelming, to say the least.

They'll probably move Hannity back to his old slot after the Dick Morris contract is completed. What date did he start? Whenever it was, add a year and that's when he'll be gone.

http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/20...-hannity-come-home-to-talk-radio-1210-wpht-2/ very, very upset. Morris should have been moved to nights.

in the press release the WPHT general manager refers to WPHT as the nation's best talk station.

( corporate suits have to be highly skilllled at B.S. )

And pray tell, what is "local" on your satellite radio "app?" Michael Boreconish? PRX? Perhaps Art Bell.

Golly gosh oh gee, what a surprise this all is. Limbaugh, the star of his format, is going back to the station that broadcasts his format. That format's going to program the most popular hosts and strain of talk in the format. That's not going to change because younger listeners don't generally listen to local or national talk through their "apps" unless its sports. (Perhaps that would explain why more care goes into crafting a Fantasy Football team than electing a President.)

Maybe this "shock" development will quell the ideological stillborns and those whose mental cognition is slowed by the need to post over the need to think.

Sh'yeah, right. I gotta cut back on my glaucoma medication.

Someone fire up the grill. We need to cook up some crow. FredLeonard needs to eat it now. Didn't he swear up and down WPHT Wouldn't want Rush & Sean back?

I think alot of people were swearing over the summer that Hanity & Rush was done in Philly.

A few suggested Rush might move back to 1210, but 1210 being in such a powerful position would be able to tell clearchannel to kiss their you know what about taking Sean back too.
