The end of an error: Geraldo's awful talk show to end December 20th

Some of us remember when Rush was only three hours of a much broader and more localized talk lineup. You could even, imagine this, hear people that disagreed with Rush before or after him. Imagine that.

That was before talkradio managers decided that dumbing down talkradio to appeal only to those who cannot handle differing opinions, was paramount.

I was actually more likely to listen to Rush back when I didn't hear every other host on the same station regurgitating the same talking points all day long. I don't care what your opinions or ideology, hearing that one-note from one end of the day to the other is so mind-numbingly boring, it's ridiculous.

My favorite part of all this was the witty beginning of this entire thread: "The end of an error..." However, THANKS to everyone for participating so far...don't stop!

I bow to one of the great movers and shakers of the radio industry who so generously finds the time in his busy schedule to share his wealth of knowledge on radio message boards.
Be argumentative all you want, all your post are wrong and reek of bitterness. Deal with it.

Look, this isn't about you and me but, for the record, I objected to your description of Geraldo's show as "awful." That's a difference of opinion. There's no right or wrong. The show may not be a ratings success but that's a different matter. Quality and success don't always go hand in hand, unfortunately. It's possible to discuss a program based on its content apart from its numbers. Of course, to do that you have to actually listen to it.

Wrong again, I listen to it daily. My station runs the show.
