Ratings & Revenue then,....and Now for the True Thinkers:

As for the afore mentioned Cowboy Boots, I prefer Goat Hide, and I wear a 13.

The only reason The Knack did well... is that was a kick-ass song!...Power Pop Rock, in its purest form!
So, you wouldn't play The Beatles on a Rock station?

The Knack was all over the TV. No one thought that they were The Beatles. Burton Avery, and the late Doug Fieger, looked nothing like John & Paul.

Again,...out of the three 80's songs.....which one do you pick....that tested well...that hit #1....that beats the other two....Pick One!

The Beatles went through a metamorphosis in Rubber Soul. I'd play Taxman on a rock station. I wouldn't play Love Me Do.

The Knack was on Capital, as was The Raspberries. You think they weren't trying to play on their most popular band?

Only one of your 3 choices hit #1, and I've already addressed it. I'd play Al Yankovic's version first.

Well,...you are right about a little something, but don't start high-fivin' or stickin' your chest out. Yes, The Beatles began their creative period, with 1965's "Rubber Soul", an amazing LP, and still a good listen, but anyone will tell you this is mid-60's Pop; The Turtles were doing it too! Also, stand corrected(again!)....as
"Taxman" is from "Revolver", not "Rubber Soul".

The Beatles created "Power Pop", a very catchy, melodic angle of Rock Music. The term for that sound is often, "Beatlesque". The Raspberries, as Badfinger, The Beatles' own proteges, followed suit, and they were both Incredible!

So, with the praise of "My Bologna",....you have indirectly made your pick for......"My Sharonna" as the better of the three 80's hit songs. Correct?

I never said it was. I simply identified Rubber Soul as the start of their metamorphosis. And in another sentence, said I'd play Taxman.

Some power pop songs were playable on FM rockers, and those that got tons of AM Top 40 play would not. Early Elvis Costello was power pop, and it got rock radio airplay. Tommy TuTone was power pop that got FM rock radio airplay. Rock stations wouldn't play Go All The Way, but they would play Overnight Sensation.

Have I given you enough attention for one day?

Well,...it's nice that I have toasted, and worn out....still yet another Pencilneck that assumes that he knows radio, and here the readers can clearly see that,
he does not. Also, stand corrected(again!)....Elvis Costello was part of the post-disco, British side of the "New Wave" movement, not to be confused with the U.S. side of the "New Wave" movement. By the way, WROQ still plays "Go All The Way"....some Consultant said, it tested well,...and "My Sharonna".

You still hav-unt given the readers here.....your pick!

I thought that you decided to quit, and go to bed. Remember,...you had given me enough attention for one day.

....and we are talking about music,.....80's music.

Now that you've donned the pajamas,....what is your pick of the three?

If thy shant pick,...then you loose this argument by defart! .....but, Scootumus,....we wanted him to pick!

(pick C & win)

A: The Cars
B: Blondie
C: The Knack

You are beating a dead roach...

Well,...JethroM, since his "A"-ness has placed himself in self exile,....maybe your boney little self would like to grow a set, and answer my ever-so offending question?

Well,...which of these 80's songs tested better than the other two? Let's Go(The Cars) One Way or Another(Blondie) My Sharonna(The Knack).

Well,...behold readers,...the last post/post above from the pea brained chicken-hearted, too scared to say Boo to a goose, much less, take a swing at my music related Radio question. The question still stands to be answered by the alleged smart on the Radio business.

OK,...Mr. Ed,....you've been chompin' at the bit to attempt correctness,...so, have at it.........my grading to follow.

OK,...Mr. Ed,....you've been chompin' at the bit to attempt correctness,...so, have at it.........my grading to follow.

Your question has no correct answer unless you specify the station, its format and its market.

A song that researches well on one format in a particular market may be a burnt out stiff in another market or in a different format.

Here's another one too scared to answer a simple question of short thought. ....when any company conducts an Auditorium Music Test , they are testing the songs.....they don't care, and they certainly don't explain to the stooges what format that they are testing, as if they would understand, to start with.

They test for appeal verses burn, and it only varies, when you vary the group of stooges. Again, they test the songs!

So,..., answer the question or admit that you are in the little wicker basket of Boobs, with JethroM, and his "A"-ness.

Skippy, the reason why nobody "answers" your question is that nobody gives half a fart.

The truth is....all of you are scared to answer, as if there is a trick, in the balance. JethroM...judging from your last drivel,....not scared or just foolish.
Ya see, typing that, holds the safety of distance,....teasing an Alligator from 10-feet away. ....but your biggest worry is this: I remember & I never forget.
1-2-3-4-years from now, you might not, walking down the hall.....but I will Remember.
