Worcester's 98.9/WORC-FM flipping to country Friday morning at 10

I've been close to Webster, MA many times, but have never been in it. I know it's on I-395 at the Connecticut border. I had this station on with an old Panasonic AM/FM/CD "Walkman" when leaving the Worcester bus/train terminal, heading west (south?) down I-290 and then back to I-90 on New Year's night. The signal got stepped on by WSRS-FM 96.1 in the area of the Polar headquarters and the Auburn town line. They were solid for much of my time on I-90 between Exit 10 in Auburn and Exit 9 in Sturbridge. It was fine for much of the ride on I-84 West to the CT line. It was so-so to about the Ashford/Willington, CT town line. That's when WPLR-FM 99.1 of New Haven caused a bit of interference.

I definitely noticed an older country song or two mixed in. Was this station being fed via satellite with a local ad simply thrown in?

My understanding, from posts on the station's Facebook page, is that there's some national guidance (and of course, branding) but all automation comes out of the Cumulus Worcester studios.
