Movin's Awesome "Brooke and Jubal" gets syndicated to Portland's KBFF

Given the changes KBFF has made recently this will probably last a year or so. It seems like the station as a hole is really not sure what to do with itself. I haven't really listened much lately, but last time I did they sounded like an adult CHR with a heavy rhythmic lean think KPLZ but replace the adult-leaning golds and currents they have not played on mainstream CHR with songs from the rhythmic chart. I kind of wonder if one of the current hosts will end up in middays? That daypart has been jockless for several months now.

It's kinda odd a market the size of Portland needs to import anything. For example, there are four sports stations and only one has a local morning show--hosted by guys from 710 KIRO.

Good point. I'm betting that it all has to do with the fact that they only have one pro sports franchise.. I wonder if the guys on 710 actually talk about the Trailblazers.

I think the members of the Portland Timbers (a pro soccer franchise) might take issue with your bet.

Yep, it's really odd that Portland being a big market that there's not much live content especially in the evenings. I know KUPL and KWJJ are th live until midnight, KKRZ is tracked after 8, KKCW is syndicated after 8, KFIS is syndicated after 7, KRSK is jockless after 7, KFBW is syndicated after 7, KLTH is live until midnight, and KXJM is live until 10. I really don't get it.

As soon as I saw that I wondered what the likelihood of Alpha buying out Hubbard in this market would be? That would give Alpha full control of the show at this point.

The Portland ratings are showing nice growth of KBFF's morning numbers in key demos- this is not a one time thing- it's a nice trend over the time they've been there which has been awhile. If it recycles listeners outside the AM drive area remains to be seen but iheart who runs a very smart operation in Portland - will no doubt take steps to counter it and will make for a good battle for listeners. Gotta love competition.

These Seattle imports into Portland do not have a good record. Most fail. However, we may have reached a point where nobody cares anymore.

Are you disputing my statement citing actual ratings? Or are you saying never mind the good ratings (facts), give it time and it will fail? Just curious :) Most of the Seattle imports that failed in Portland- failed in Seattle too. I can't think of one show still on here that was ever in the Portland market, can you?

As airchair noted, Fitz - who's currently on the air- did have a go-round in the Rose City. And the (somewhat) recently retired Bob Rivers had much success here - but very little in PDX.
