Late nighters in syndication (game shows, talk shows, etc.)

From PYLdude on GameShowForum:

How many of you remember what game shows aired in those pesky latenight slots where shows go when there's no other spot for them or their ratings are down in your markets?

Qualifiers: first run single episodes only, hours from 12:00-6:00 am

In my market:

WCBS: Match Game '98, Sex Wars (IIRC), Win Lose or Draw (last season), Weakest Link (second season)
WNBC: Matchmaker, Joker 90, TTD 90, Liars Club from the 80s, Kennedy TPIR, Jeopardy (first few months), Davidson Pyramid
WABC: Name That Tune, Headline Chasers, Card Sharks
WWOR: Feud during at least one of Combs' last two years
WPIX: Street Smarts

Feel free to fill.in whatever gaps and share yer own.

The same could be said for talk shows, newsmagazines, even some network shows. If Craig Ferguson's syndicated show had gone forward, some stations would had aired it in the graveyard.

Also, give examples of shows aired on a day-behind basis. Again, first-run episodes only.

Do you want past and present, or just present?

As for the past...
Street Smarts was on KCPQ at the graveyard time of 3-4AM around 2003-05, after airing before midnight since the premiere in 2000 on KONG and before that, KTWB.
Family Feud, in the first Richard Karn season in Seattle was on KOMO at 2:35AM I believe. Horrible time. Led into World News Now. Then moved to KTWB at various hours in the day and afternoon the rest of the Karn run.
Over in Portland, the 1994 "Price is Right" with Doug Davidson was buried at 3:05AM on KOIN 6 weeknights.
And then in Dallas, the show "Forgive and Forget" had a run at 1AM on KDAF-33 in 1998-99, it was also aired in the late morning as well.

Present
Buried in Seattle on KSTW are "Supreme Justice" and "Comics Unleashed", both aired in the 3-4AM time slot.
Forensic Files is on KONG-16 at 2-3AM local time as well.
The 2nd run of Right This Minute airs at 2:07AM on KIRO-7 (CBS) in Seattle. First run airs in the afternoon.

Apparently Jeopardy! Was Aired on WCCO/4 Minneapolis at 1:37 AM then 2:07 am back in the
90's Eventually KingWorld was fed up and Moved J! to KARE/11 at 4:30pm where its been ever since
and Wheel airs on 'CCO At 6:30pm

"American Gladiators" was always late night on my abc afflate wlos excpt in the spring and summer 1992 when it was on at 7

If this counts for something, Craig Ferguson's current syndicated effort, "Celebrity Name Game", has bounced around in numerous time slots locally on KTLA here in L.A.; it first premiered in early prime (7pm), then moved to the 5pm hour (bumping "Family Guy" reruns to post-midnight), then to the 3am hour (replacing a rerun of one of their daytime talkers), and is now back in a reasonable timeslot (10am--competiting against the Hoda-Kathie Lee "Today" hour, "The Price is Right", and "The View" among others).

The '98-99 version of "Match Game" was seen on KCBS late nights, usually around 2 or 2:30am, after the 11pm news replay. Superstation WGN also aired that show in a late night/early morning slot as well. KCAL locally aired the recent "Card Sharks" revival, scheduling it usually at 12:30am, while it was teamed with another game/dating show.

Los Angeles has been fortunately enough at least that most of syndicated game shows and talk shows haven't been buried in to much-later timeslots, as far as my recollection goes. However, in the last years of the first incarnation of "The Arsenio Hall Show" gradually downgraded its timeslot numerous times, eventually airing at 1am weeknights until its demise.

AFAIK, none of the local channels in Miami air game shows overnight as of now. They mainly air paid programming, but from what I know, WTVJ (NBC) airs reruns of The Meredith Vieira Show and Steve Harvey on weekdays and Extra on weekends. WSVN (FOX) airs Supreme Justice, Justice for All, and Comics Unleashed on weekdays and several entertainment programs along with Storm Stories (a Weather Channel program) on weekends. WFOR (CBS) and WPLG (ABC) air paid programming and news. WBFS (MyTV) and WSFL (CW) air reruns of comedy shows and (on WSFL on weekdays) Forensic Files.

For the first 3 years "The Doctors" aired in Houston, KHOU bumped "Jeopardy!" to late nights so it could air at 3pm and lead into Oprah Winfrey (J! had aired at 330 for more than 20 years up until that point).

When Oprah hung up her mic in 2011, and KHOU started a 4pm newscast, they brought Jeopardy! back to the afternoons at 430.

"The Doctors" now airs on indy KUBE-57 after KHOU stole Ellen DeGeneres away from KPRC in 2013.

In Philadelphia, I recall KYW airing Joker's Wild and Tic Tac Dough (the 1990 revivals) and Match Game '98 in the late night. When Richard Dawson came back to Family Feud in 1994, WCAU ran a couple of episodes, for a short time, on Saturdays in the 7 p.m. hour, with the remainder in the overnights.

My favorite odd thing now is that the 8 p.m. episodes of the shows on My Network TV on Thursdays and Fridays are bumped to overnights on WPHL, making room for an hour of Celebrity Name Game each of those nights. The 9 p.m. episodes air as scheduled.

...one of the earliest attempts at a syndicated late-night talk show was The Pat Buttram Show, which first aired over KTLA/5 Los Angeles in February 1961. That program didn't go very far, and when Westinghouse started up its version of The Steve Allen Show, KTLA acted as the flagship affiliate. The Allen show invariably ran against The Tonight Show on NBC, even bumping Tonight off of the NBC affiliates Westinghouse then owned in Boston (WBZ-TV/4) and Cleveland (KYW-TV/3). Elsewhere, Allen most often appeared on CBS affiliates; in my native Wisconsin, WISN-TV/12 Milwaukee and WISC-TV/3 Madison put him up against Paar/Carson...

In Alaska:
The Bill Cosby version of "You Bet Your Life" was aired on KTVF (and I think then-sister station KTVA) at around 1:00 am.
KTUU, according to listings posted here, carried "The Gong Show" (Don Bleu) at 1:30 am; same with "The Newlywed Game" (Brad Sherwood).
KTVF at one point had "Inside Edition" at 4:00 am!!!
Jerry Springer was on KFXF at 11:00 pm for some period; now, he and Maury Povich have been buried to 4:00 and 5:00 am respectively.
KATN/KYUR/KJUD have been airing "Access Hollywood" and "Extra" on late night for many years now, though for a brief period, they also slotted "Family Feud" (Richard Karn).

And of course, Jane Whitney was aired as "NightTalk" in most markets.

I'll let bpatrick and Ccook55 take care of Atlanta, especially the Big Three (WSB, WAGA, and WXIA). What I do know is that late last summer, WAGA moved AH from 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm (opposite Jimmys Fallon and Kimmel and whatever CBS is throwing in temporarily until Stephen Colbert), while WSB has Meredith Vieira at 2:00 am (at least for now; I'm hoping WAGA will pick her up at 2:00 pm, with "TMZ Live" moving back one hour)!!!!!

WVIT the NBC O&O in Hartford airs new episodes of Merideth Viera at 2PM. Then they rebroadcast that same episode that night at 2:05AM instead of The Best of Katie Lee & Hoda. They air new episodes of Steve Harvey at 3PM and then they air an episode that is a couple weeks old at 3AM instead of Mad Money.

That's with all of the NBC O&Os now.

WMC Memphis has Crime Watch Daily at 1:30am. WLMT has picked up Crazy Talk, they might put it in a graveyard slot.

Are any new shows being aired in late night in your market?

Starting September 14th, Who Wants to be a Millionaire airs overnight on two channels over here - at 1:30 AM on WPLG (ABC) and at 3 AM on WSVN (FOX). The 1:30 AM showing is one episode, the 3 AM showing is 2 episodes.

In Seattle, KZJO has used a horrible 3AM slot for a Just for Laughs: Gags double run. Right in between infomercials, actually.
They also air Dish Nation at 2AM.
