Donald Trump and the disconnect between the media and people.

Anybody else notice how the media and the people are at a complete disonnect when it comes to this, among other things? The media has shown a side of itself in plain sight that they previously tried to hide trying to sway public support away from getting him the GOP nomination, not for his values, but because of the fact that he can't be bought. Since much of the media is owned by such few congomerates with only 6 own 90% of what isdisplayed to the public. So too do the media try and "sway" what we find "good." For example, many magazines owned by the same conglomerations gloss over people like Amy Schumer, despite the fact that very few people watch her show in comparisson to Big Bang reruns or even George Lopez reruns in the middle of the night. This is not because of her comedy, but because of political reasons, like her feminism, the way she looks, and the fact that and her political views. It seems like the media seems to be in congruence with one another about beliefs like this as well as other beliefs, yet starkly at odds with the public. What are your thoughts?

You don't think media journalism is out of touch with the public?

Depends on which media you're talking about (they're not all in agreement) and which members of the public you're talking about (also not all in agreement)

There are many other candidates who oppose Trump. Are you saying they're also out of touch with the public?

No. He is just one of two current examples I gave which displaed the disconnect between public and news conglomerate views. I'm personally a Bernie Sanders guy.

To the best of my knowledge, "news conglomerates" are each made up of thousands of free thinking people who each have their own opinions about candidates. And the disconnect may be between management and those who actually report the news. It's been my experience that the public will do whatever they want, regardless of what the news media reports. You're giving the media way more power than they actually have.
