Pump Those Brakes, Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna...

It appears that KCOH may not have the new 105-3 K287BQ translator as an option for moving to the FM dial after all. It seems Houston Christian Broadcasters didn't take too kindly to having the translator light up as a next door neighbor, so they filed this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5fT1CTu9fUAWnNSRXZfRGRoRjA/view?usp=sharing

Guess the time for the church to start looking for "Plan C" is now. Surprisingly enough, no objections filed from Univision, whose KAMA -FM is equal distance from the new translator, only 2 doors down instead of up.

What now for K287BQ?

I sent them a link and asked if they were aware of this. And have not received any answer. I'm at pretty sure they are.

Christian radio groups usually let their Washington attorneys fight things out. One owner I knew back before frequencies were auctioned was told by one attorney working for a Christian Broadcaster client that they'd stall things until he was bankrupt and get the frequency if he wouldn't agree to stop the fight for the frequency. Usually the Christian versus Christian fights are handled by hired hands. And they're just as serious about acquiring stations as the commercial big group owners.

The Servers may have been running the database backup last night. That could explain Boards going offline for a short period of time. I see nothing in the records which indicate any technical problems with the website.

This translator is 2 frequencies apart from 105.7. Who do you think will win?

Lol, well yes and no. HCB expects interference to 105-7 if the translator were to light up two channels down. There's no interference yet, because there's no K287BQ yet.

Even though they have a license to cover.....now, explain that one.

As for the winner, who can say. Common sense says Houston Christian Broadcasters, but since these some of these translators like K291CE (and now K287BQ) started hopping and lighting up, common sense has been in short supply.

Just came out in the FCC daily digest. CENTRO CRISTIANO DE VIDA ETERNA is buying 99.1 K256CC Beaumont.

Soon to be 98-9. Guess C-Dub passed on it, after all.

Well, let the hopping commence...

Didnt pass...the FCC lawyer never got back to me...time to file against the sale and move as they filed for a license to cover for a signal not even built (considering the tower used in the CTL app was KWIC's old stick and was dismantled YEARS ago....hmmmm this smells...

Yep it SMELLS...same lawyer for both buyer and seller of K256CC...and also MY lawyer (thats about to change!!!)

Yep it SMELLS...

..and all these years I've been blaming La Porte. Who knew the stench was actually coming from Beaumont?

I think your attorney should become your former attorney, poste haste. Give 'em hell, CW.

We have an amendment...but is this really going to appease Houston Christian Broadcasters? We shall see.

This is what I meant, I don't understand which lines represent what? There's 3 different circles which one covers what?

And what do you think The Guevaras will put on this signal? A Tejano station? A Regional Mexican Christian station to compete against Radio Aleluya?? (That would be my wish)
Or a Mega/latinomix format??

The only useful contour on the radio-locator site is the smallest and innermost one. Almost all measured listening takes place inside that contour. At home and at work listening areas are about 20% less than the innermost contour. The second contour is where a station might be heard, but not really listened to, on a better radio and some car radios in clear, line of sight paths. The outer one is "improbable but not impossible" if you don't mind very deficient signals and interference.

I meant on the FCC page Mr Eduardo.. Like in the FCC SITE there are 3 different colored circles. One Green, blue and Red. And they are in many different areas of Houston. This is the one I'm asking about.

I got you, Señor. The lime green line represents where the signal currently is licensed. The blue line represents the construction permit's granted proposal and signifies the new coverage area once built. The red line shows the newest amendment to the granted construction permit and represents the latest coverage area that the facility owner requests. That's why Joe, CW, and I call them "hoppers". They just move a few miles at a time, usually just barely touching the coverage area of the previously applied for proposal. The red circle, on these hopping facilities, is the one you want to pay attention to. It represents what is expected to be the final proposed coverage area, once the station is built out.

I think the edit/delete time for posts needs to be extended. Not sure if posting that last link was a good decision, especially since the situation was in the past for HCB so why bring it up? I'm just not sure what'll happen to the SA signal, and I was curious.

I have a draft email to my attorney (soon to be former....) Here is what I have typed so far...any input would be appreciated.

Dan,
I emailed you in December about K256CC and you said you would get back to me shortly.
I recently found out it is being sold to an operator known to hop Class Ds into the Houston area using multiple single apps to then upgrades....and you are their lawyer...as well as being the lawyer for the seller.

I am a little upset on this. You did not get back to me nor was my offer to buy/lease the translator passed on from what I have seen. This action was not in my best interest and I guess you do not wish to take me seriously as a client.

I am therefore terminating any further activity with you as my attorney and will be seeking legal consul who will act in my behalf and interests.

Regards,
