Any radio/telethons happening besides the WIVK/WVLT one?

Right now we've got WLCT/WEEN 102.1/1460 out of Lafayette doing one, and we've got WSMV-4 doing one, but nothing else out of Nashville I've seen or heard besides the ones mentioned and last night's WKRN-2 one.

What's really bad is WSEV-FM/Gatlinburg, WPFT Pigeon Forge and WSEV-AM and it's translator haven't done anything. The two full power FM's don't even mention it on their web pages. It's great all these other out of town stations are stepping up with telethons and radiothons to help with raising money. But the local stations should step up too. If they don't I hope the local businesses realize they aren't and remember them when they come knocking for advertising dollars.

WSEV-AM and translator's cluster-mate in Newport (Thunder Country 104.7)'s T.K. (formerly of WIMZ) was all over the area giving updates from the relief centers Saturday and has continued on her show. I suggested they simulcast Thunder Country on 930/104.1 until things get closer to normal. I haven't monitored Mixx and WPFT closely. I'm thinking the locals are probably already giving and maybe a Sevier Co. telethon isn't the best thing.

Dolly Parton will be hosting a telethon on in Nashville within the next few days.

TK? Was she formerly known as Tammy on WSEV-FM and WPFT? I wondered why I hear her all over 930/104.1. I didn't know she left WIMZ. I also didn't know the Newport station was related to all of this.

I may need a scorecard. T.K. (whose name is Tammy) did indeed work at WSEV-FM (Mixx 105.5) and WPFT but that was before I moved here. She left weekends at WIMZ within the last year and a half and took mornings at Thunder Country 104.7 and tracks (presumably) afternoons at sister WNPC 1060/92.3 (translator). Grand Crowne Resorts turned WSEV (AM)...separately owned from WSEV-FM...off in August 2015 if I remember right, though they ran a full-powered dead carrier through November, after the sale was announced. Bristol Broadcasting (owner of several Tri-Cities area stations) added 930 to their cluster and fired up a translator on 104.1, after seemingly months of running a rotation of 3 songs. Even though it's called Smoky Mountain Radio again, they produce no tourism features, just music, spots and recorded weather. By the sale agreement, they still have to give Grand Crowne 2 :30s an hour so they can get people to stop by the official welcome center. Milton Crabapple is nowhere to be found.

Thanks for the scorecard Brad. I'm so out of touch with what's been going on lately with Sevier County radio, I didn't even know about 104.1 until I spent a weekend in Sevierville this summer and stumbled across 104.1 playing Helen Reddy! That was definitely an attention getter! Tammy did middays at Mix(x) 105.5 until WPFT came on the air. She co-hosted the morning show with Bill Burkett on 106.3 The Mountain when it was oldies/classic hits. She is a very good air talent. Good to see she is still around.

I follow Tammy on Facebook and she announced that on her page. Then a discussion followed about "how can 930/104.1 be WSEV when 105.5 is WSEV? Of course I provided the lengthy answer. Definitely something Grand Crowne Resorts would never have done, or even had the capability to.
