KXTJ playing dance music on weekend nights

You all probably remember 96.9 on the NW side of San Antonio which plays oldschool soul music and disco during the day. I've also heard KXTJ Classic Hits 96.9 playing hit music and dance music on Friday and Saturday nights, and on weeknights it's throwback top 40 from a few years ago. I like how they're mixing it up and playing newer music at night. Right now they're doing a live EDM mix show and the current DJ's dad's apparently tuned in, LOL.

Sounds great. I wish the signal was stronger.

kxtj is operating as specified in the cp for more power and height. Have been this way for 15 plus months. Just have not filed the license application yet. They have till november to get licensed

Just tuned into the stream and heard Gladys Knight - Try To Remember/The Way We Were followed by a RE-RECORDING of Playground In My Mind from Clint Holmes into You Light Up My Life from Debby Boone.

How about Easy Listening not Classic Hits. Unless it was some sort of special Sunday programming.

Turns out they call it "70s on Sunday." YLUML was followed by Puppy Love from Donny Osmond.

This station plays everything from classic hits to currents. You can listen to this station and hear Bee Gees Night Fever and then the next song you’ll hear is Rihanna’s latest hit.

But they break it up into different sections. Classic hits during the day and pop at night.

PERMIT CANCELLED on 96.9 so it should be at 9 meters now I assume.

KXTJ must revert to the original antenna height, power as specified on their current license and not operate with the current setup on the 100ft tower. KXTJ never filed for a license of the permit that expired

they have been operating at the cp height and power for many months and will need now to reduce to the currently licensed height and power. they are currently illegal

Well hopefully then they will do something soon if they haven't already.

From RadioInsight:

San Antonio Public Safety Alliance’s 96.9 KXTJ-LP San Antonio TX has been issued a Notice of Violation for a lack of an EAS log.
