Katie Couric and Mike Tirico to host ceremonies in the 2018 Olympic games on NBC

Some sites are reporting this as a "slap" to Megyn Kelly, suggesting that she wasn't invited. That's fake news.

The real story is she asked not to go because of her kids. NBC knew this before she was hired.
 
The good news is for the first time NBC will allow people to view the live clean world feed of the opening ceremonies without NBC pomp and circumstance.

Isn't the bigger slap to Meredith Viera who has had this role for the last several Olympics?
