I take it the grandfather clauses are running out

what grandfather clause? Technically KIMT, KAAL and KEYC are still significant viewed in Kossuth County (KAAL has a translator in Graner, IA which covers Clear Lake/Mason City area and Titonka is within reach). More and more cable companies are dropping the duplication of networks unless their market is a "orphan" or just get out of state stations.

Kossuth
KIMT, 3, Mason City, IA (formerly KGLO)
KAAL, 6, Austin, MN (formerly KAUS)
KEYC-TV, 12, Mankato, MN

actually going all digital freed up more bandwidth. My market is still QAM on the lifeline and instead of having to use 12 analog stations for the locals they just cram them onto 1 maybe 2 digital stations.

Cunningham Communications has systems in parts of three DMAs.
Their Wichita DMA system (Jewell and Mitchell counties) carries NBC Kansas City, the Big Four Tri-Cities NE, and CBS Topeka in HD (for an extra price) alongside the Wichita locals: https://cunninghamtelephoneandcable.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/2018-WICHITA.pdf

However, all three systems only get KOOD (the secondary PBS for the Wichita DMA) for PBS.

I wonder what is right as both zap2it and tvguide show the CW coming off of WBKP (assume the subchannel of WBUP)
Titantv has it all messed up. They show cable stations in the 2-13 range
