Video Tour of new studios in Meffa.

Apparently SF Road never gave them a fridge,

Holy Smoke! proclaimed 'bout 10,000 times.

Hopefully "McGoo" (ole man Rea) uses Ubah!

Google it.

"Look at all the chairs...we have more chairs here than bodies to put in them" (or something like that).
Awkward... pink slips at iHR...

I hear that some people were not given the door code for the new location, and are now on Revere Beach.

Any word on layoffs on Friday before the move?

before the move?

Heard the early AM changeover and BradleyJ said things were smooth after a few hours to get used to it. Josh wouldn't talk saying he was too busy with new stuff.

Jim Ryan did the final traffic report from 1170 and was then told his services were no longer required.

Wouldn't surprise me if he showed up at Total Traffic at some point. And yes I know it's co-owned.

It's fairly common for people to leave one iHeart office and pop up in another.

Nope...Smialek. ..read below.
Since the following is on a freely available site (Tom Taylor's NOW newsletter) I'll reproduce it:
"Just as iHeart moved Boston’s news/talk WBZ/1030 – “a few surprise announcements.”
Traffic reporter Jim Ryan learned he was out “mid-shift” last Friday, says Scott Fybush of Northeast Radio Watch. Also learning his fate that day was Matt Smialek. He and Jim won’t be relocating from 1170 Soldiers Field Road to iHeart’s cluster space at 1 Cabot Road in Medford. Scott says iHeart had announced on Wednesday that “veteran production guru Mike Coleman, who’d been with WBZ nearly 35 years” also wouldn’t be kept on. Final broadcast from the space where ‘BZ radio had lived since 1948 was Saturday night."

I guess there's no room anymore for Coleman's sometimes brilliant promos. They have to squeeze in all those iheart garbage drop-ins.

With no inside knowledge - just as a listener - I think ditching Michael Coleman will take the creativity out of the on air product. Along with a very distinctive voice heard on some commercials and promos, it seemed he was behind a lot of the imaging, promos and probably commercials that bring some flair to the station. Rather than ditch him they should have leveraged him across the entire cluster. Maybe the new "high tech" studios are so easy to use they don't think they need him - but no matter the technology it takes people to make it work so I vote this is a big fail. Really bigger than some of the other people they have parted ways with so far.

And just to set the record straight, I as well was a casualty of the BZ to Medford move along with Couch and Jim Ryan. Not a pleasant situation.

I agree with everything you stated here. And then some.

I'm sorry about your situation.

Just when I think iHeart does have some heart, they go do something like this and really p1$$ me right off.

on a portion of the 8-acre site in Allston Globe

Trend is usually to get out of a city with high prop' taxes and
toss them in a Quonset hut somewhere. No more posh buildings.
