They preempted that for this?

WNBC New York aired an impromptu "special edition" newscast at 7:00

It wasn't an "impromptu" newscast at 7PM on WNBC. It was announced last week that WNBC (and most other NBC O&O's) were adding additional newscasts. (Most of the East Coast O&O's at 7PM Eastern). https://www.radiodiscussions.com/showthread.php?724129-NBC-Owned-Stations-Expand-Local-Newscasts

Note: WFSB the Merideth owned CBS station in Hartford also has a new local 7PM Newscast. (Replacing Inside Edition). When launched the 7PM Newscast was exclusively on their app. (They also started a 4PM Newscast, replacing local lifestyle talk show Better Connecticut).

I know I shouldn't complain but if someone can tell me how to see the questions and answers I missed online I can be content with that.

The NBC affiliate not only started late last night but they showed the wrong episode. They started from the beginning, and I knew something was wrong because Alex said the returning champion started the week with whatever she did. That makes it a Tuesday episode. And the second round ended abruptly before a commercial break followed by Final Jeopardy. Then when I turned to the CBS affiliate they joined in progress after something related to the virus and I saw they had different contestants. Maybe the NBC affiliate will fix whatever was wrong and show the whole episode later. I did check the Saturday episode and it had what was missing.

WLKY Louisville (CBS) and WBFF Baltimore (FOX) also carried the President through to 8:00, pre-empting both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune in both cities (Wheel is first on WLKY; J! is first on WBFF), and also pre-empting CBS Evening News on the former.

WPBF West Palm Beach (ABC) did this last night as well.

It's the same with Memphis, where Jeopardy is on WREG CBS 3 and Wheel is on WMC NBC 5.

I'd say about a third of the Central Time Zone carries Wheel and Jeopardy! on separate stations, whether co-owned or competitors. In the Eastern Time Zone, only two markets carry them separately: Dayton, OH has WOF on WHIO CBS 7 and J! on competitor WDTN NBC 2. Marquette, MI has J!'s main run on WLUC 6.2 FOX. WOF airs on 6.2 FOX on Mondays only, but Tuesday-Saturday air on 6.1 NBC (a local weekly show on NBC moves WOF to FOX, as well as any other pre-emptions). Jeopardy! does air on 6.1 on Saturdays and its "daytime" run at 5:30 PM. AFAIK, no markets in the Mountain or Pacific Time Zones have them separated, although Hawaii does - J! on KGMB CBS 5 and WOF on competitor KHON FOX 2.

Thanks for that info. On my guide, WNBC has an encore of NBC Nightly News listed at 7:30 and Access Hollywood is still listed at 7:00. WVIT does have local news at 7:00 and All Access at 7:30, though I believe when they do local news at 7:00, All Access gets replaced with Hollywood.

Speaking of Inside Edition, WCBS New York has withdrawn its news at noon all this week and replaced it with an encore of the previous day's Inside Edition; WCBS does not normally carry the IE encores, unlike with its companion ET. And WFSB has no IE at all until the weekend edition at the usual 1:35 AM on Monday morning.

It would be good if Wheel and Jeopardy could get a next day carriage deal with Hulu like is done with a lof of other shows. They carry classic Jeopardy episodes and tournaments, but that's all I've seen.

Both shows, along with other syndie hits (Ellen, Dr. Phil, Judge Judy, and others) were said to be coming On Demand to STIRR by the end of Q1 2020, though none are available yet.

This would be Wheel's first time available for legal streaming besides CBS All Access in markets where Wheel is on CBS affiliates. It was also formerly available to stream (along with Jeopardy! and Judge Judy) live on ntv.ca (website for Canadian superstation CJON) at 3:30 PM Eastern (at least 3.5 hours before the US), but they were forced to black out all of those shows shortly into the 2018-19 season because of the launch of CBSAA in Canada.

Jeopardy! has several episodes available for streaming but sadly not Wheel. It is believed that it is because older Wheel episodes are more expensive to clear with the older versions of the theme music, since flashback clips shown on current episodes always have the older music, like the fanfares when puzzles are solved, with the current equivalents. Of course, since Jeopardy! has had the same theme song for its entire run, this isn't a problem for that show, whereas Wheel ditched its classic theme music in 2000 and changed it several times since.

Hm. WNBC didn't do a 7:00 newscast on Tuesday. They went exactly according to the listings - Access Hollywood aired at 7:00 and then Nightly News repeated at 7:30. WVIT did air news at 7:00, and as I predicted, Access Hollywood slid to 7:30. Is All Access on hiatus or something? Weird of WNBC to air Nightly News twice in a span of 90 minutes.

Not shocking given that states, cities and counties are announcing the Shelter in place order.

WAFF in Huntsville, Alabama (NBC) ran severe weather coverage from 5:30-9:00 PM Central, pre-empting NBC Nightly News, Local News, Wheel of Fortune, Ellen's Game of Games, and the season finale of This is Us (JIP'd during the last scene).

WKRN in Nashville (ABC) pre-empted Wheel of Fortune tonight with a coronavirus special featuring mayor John Cooper. WOF is bumped to 1:33 AM, replacing Right This Minute.
