They preempted that for this?

Alpena gets Wheel and Jeopardy! via WPBN on cable. However, I think WBKB may also normally air the shows.

Yeah, WBKB is the Alpena affiliate for them. Since Alpena's one of the bottom markets, WBKB is one of the few CBS affiliates that is not available to stream on CBS All Access.

So looks like this weeks FOX "optional sports" programming (where affiliates can take the programming if they please) is the following
Today NASCAR race from Phoenix in November 1988 (11am CDT) and Game 7 of 2001 World series (2PM CDT)
Sundays is Nascar ERacing at noon and Super Bowl XLV at 2

Like I say its optional apparently because in my guide KMSP Minneapolis is only carrying SB XLV tomorrow. KEYC-DT2 Mankato is showing 3 of the 4 (the Phoenix race is not shown). I'm not going through every affiliate and post what they are showing ;) but the 2 local ones for me were KEYC-DT2 which had Bandwagon x2 (their polka show that has been on the air for 60 years now), The Song (https://www.thesong.tv/) and Madam Secretary. KMSP Minneapolis has Movies from 10-2, paid program from 2-3, Access Hollywood 3-4, JJ x2. Sunday is TMZ at noon and AH at 1

My local FOX (WFQX) is airing all four of the sports events

WHBQ Fox 13 in Memphis is showing infomercials until 3 PM followed by TMZ and Judge Judy at 4 PM. Tomorrow they're showing infomercials from
10:30 AM until 3 PM followed by Access Hollywood and Family Feud at 4 PM. The only thing worth watching out of all that might be Family Feud.

WJKT Fox 16 in Jackson, TN is doing nothing but infomercials all day until at least 6 PM, possibly until 7. Tomorrow is all infomercials from 9:30 AM until 6 PM. This is even worse.

It's absolutely stupid to think that classic sports wouldn't draw in more viewers than infomercials. But dollars are apparently more important than viewers to them. Fox shouldn't allow this to be optional if all the local stations are going to do is fill the time with infomercials.

WREG CBS 3 in Memphis is no better today. CBS apparently has nothing today and they're running all infomercials until 5 PM. WBBJ 7.3 in Jackson, TN had a few infomercials but they are going to Me TV until 5 PM and another infomercial at 5:30. Me TV on 7.3 appears to be the best choice for local TV today.

In my opinion not showing the network's programming should result in their network affiliation contract being canceled. It's not like it's being pre-epted for "Breaking News."

I'm shocked the O&O's aren't showing it (like KMSP Minneapolis). Thats what makes it weird.

weird. Screener shows TBA tomorrow for most of the day. Titantv shows both the eNASCAR and the Super Bowl as listed

It is odd that its optional. I can possibly understand Saturday because the last few weeks the XFL would have been on at 4 CDT so affiliates had other programming already scheduled. Sundays would have been the NASCAR race (last week and this week would have been on FS1)

CBS had a World team Tennis all Star Special from 12:30-1:30 but otherwise its open. Today would have been the Final 4. WCCO Minneapolis (O&O) is paid programs too. KEYC Mankato is showing Wipeout (normally shown on sister station KMNF-LD NBC) at 1:30 and then they are showing Steel Magnolias from 2:30-5. Yeah a movie

I'm going by what I saw on Spectrum's TV Guide. I hope you're right and they actually show what Fox has available.

It looks like today would have been a good day for CBS to show a Final Four game. They're doing that tomorrow, but why not today? Actually it would make sense for the networks to be showing classic games any Saturday or Sunday that live sports isn't available, even if they hadn't been pushed into doing it because of current conditions.

Dollars pay bills. They pay salaries. It's a business. Making dollars where you can is kind of the name of the game.

Its optional programming. Dead time filler material. "Cancelling" contracts over optional filler is silly.

WNYW New York is only showing one of the four: 2001 WS. Saturday is all infomercials otherwise; Sunday is infomercials until 3 Eastern, and replacing SBXLV is a marathon of Simpsons reruns until 6, which I assume are from the syndication package since they're all from Seasons 27 and 30, and sister WWOR airs reruns weeknights at 11:30 PM.

Surprising that WNYW would take 2001 Game 7 since the Yankees lost it to Arizona. Maybe Mets fans might enjoy it, but why would any Yankees fans want to watch it again? Don't they have Yankee Classics on YES to watch? The Yankees win every one of those games.

WJKT Fox 16 is showing the NASCAR e-racing, and they now have the remainder of the afternoon schedule listed as TBA, so hopefully they're showing the Super Bowl replay as well. WHBQ Fox 13 is blacked out today on Spectrum because of their agreement with WJKT, so I don't know what they're carrying, but the schedule still shows infomercials. But I hope they've come to their senses and are carrying Fox's sports programming. So hopefully Fox either made them carry it or they came to their senses and decided to carry it instead of infomercials.

If Fox had sports programming planned for this weekend and they came up with alternate programming because of current conditions then it should have been where the local stations didn't have infomercials planned for today in the first place. But when Fox made the programming optional (For yesterday at least) they used it as a convenient excuse to run infomercials instead. Fox shouldn't have made the programming optional to begin with. Today At least WJKT is showing Fox's sports programming. Whether that's because they originally planned to do this but the schedule was wrong or if they came to their senses and changed their plans they're doing the right thing today, and I hope WHBQ is as well.

Also, like it or not, viewers have a right to complain when stations fill time with infomercials, especially when they pre-empt network programming for them, and I will continue to do so.

“If” didn’t happen. The pandemic did. And it changed things in countless ways.

Fox was absolutely right to make things optional. Because it’s a symbiotic relationship. The stations don’t exist solely to benefit Fox. This is part of the give and take, and particularly when unprecedented circumstances occur, it’s reasonable for stations to opt whichever way works for them—garbage time network shows or maybe a few extra bucks in a very tough time. If your employees paychecks were on the line which do you choose?

It’s like people can’t understand basic economics, mor take into consideration what’s happening in the world.

Interesting that FOX is showing the SB game in full and not JIP'ing for the folks who got the eNASCAR race

eNASCAR ran over about 27 minutes after the hour and FOX started the SB from the beginning at 2:27 (this is on KEYC-DT2). Meanwhile affiliates that did not carry the eNASCAR race but is carrying the SB it started at 2 CDT like scheduled. This is on as example KMSP Minneapolis which I do get on cable.

If we are going based on "what would have been" national programming the last 2 weekends on FOX it was minimal
-March 28th would have been a XFL game at 4 CDT
-Last Sunday the Texas NASCAR race would have been on FS1 and not FOX
-Yesterday and today FOX had no sports scheduled. XFL game would have been on Thursday and NASCAR again was on FS1

I see as of right now in my guide KEYC-DT2 is showing all 4 options next weekend. Saturday is the 2004 Rockingham race (the last one held there) and 2004 WS Game 4 (Bos/STL) and Sunday is eNASCAR and SB42 (Pats/Giants)

Inside Edition returns to WFSB Hartford at 7:00 starting this week. It also now has an additional airing on NYC on WCBS' sister WLNY at 9:00 PM weeknights replacing their usual newscast.

WCBS also continues to have no news at noon this week. Monday at noon is a three-year-old episode of Judge Judy (I assume from its "C" or "D" run; bringing the total airings on the WCBS/WLNY duopoly to five that day), while Tue-Fri is an encore of the previous day's Inside Edition.

Yes WJKT is showing the Super Bowl Repeat.

If that's the case I stand corrected on what the original plan was. I had thought that something live must have been orugunally planned and the schedule was changed because of current conditions.

According to Spectrum's guide WJKT and WHBQ have infomercials scheduled again for next Saturday and Sunday, but hopefully that will change.

with all these changes in regards to no live sports most guides seem to update daily with info so I would take that with a grain of salt until Friday at the earliest
