Z105.3 now simulcasting on 105.7, where Alt 105.7 is now on HD2

Looks like 105.3 instead might try to fill the void (if one can even call it that) left by 106.7's dumping of News/Talk.

Might not be a bad strategy in an election year, and in a year where COVID-19 is driving increased patronage of spoken word formats. If 105.3 can pry away one of the syndicated right-wing talk heavyweights from WSB-F, they might be able to make some noise.

Such a format on 105.3 might also pair decently with 94.9 for ad sales purposes.

I could see that...I would maintain that the problems with 106.7 were more due to product than format (too many inexperienced local talkers). Although I would try to somehow bring back the Kimmer...although he may have burned too many bridges at the Building of Death to do that.

If iHeart were to do that, they would need to revamp their afternoon schedule. Ramsey is a draw (although I hate his show--it's a personal finance porn reality show), but the rest of the afternoon schedule is a hodgepodge; keep Ben Shapiro but get rid of Del Walmsley or relegate him to weekends. I'd love to see them bring back Michael Berry, although his Texas-centric show wouldn't be as good of a draw as the Kimmer or, more likely, Mark Levin and the rest of the top-10 national talent. Although Michael Berry is enough of a draw for #13: https://www.radiodirect.com/radios-top-talkers-for-2019/

If iHeart were to do this, they're going to wish they still had that station at 105.1 up in Helen/Clermont...it's now owned by EMF. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLVG

Does anyone have any idea when or if 105.3 is flipping? My guess is after May 5th(cinco de mayo), but Iheart has pulled surprises before. I'm real interested to see what format they come up with on the signal.

105.3 The Beat it is!

Not sure how this will do against the much bigger players in Hot and V, but iHeart sees a value in it.
