Bill Mack Dead: Country Music Icon Dies From COVID-19 at Age 91

I used to listen to Bill's show occasionally while living in Arkansas in the late '70s; WBAP was practically a local at night. All due respect to Truckin' Bozo at WLW and Charlie Douglas at WWL, but Bill Mack was the gold standard for overnight trucker shows.

Interesting that the radio station obit gives a different age and downplays the COVID connection.

The COVID brush-off I'd attribute to the political leanings of the station. The age? Who knows? Maybe Bill lied on his original job application and the age has been off in the station's records ever since. Or maybe "heavy.com," which is not exactly the BBC or Associated Press, got it wrong.
