Fox Television Stations has renamed Coronavirus Now to News Now by Fox

https://www.newscaststudio.com/2020/08/19/newsnow-from-fox/

In the article the authors noted that Fox Television stations has removed the Searchlight part of their logo. Not shocking given that the Searchlight part of the Fox Logo went to Disney as part of the 20th Century Fox Deal. Also included in the changes is that WOFL and KTTV will be included as production facilities for News Now by Fox.

Fox owned television station’s OTT and streaming service NewsNow rolled out some key updates in late July 2020.

The service, which was originally launched back in 2014, temporarily shifted to be part of the company’s “Coronavirus Now” effort earlier in the pandemic along with a new web portal of COVID-19 related content culled from across Fox local stations and its cable properties.

Now, Fox has switched back to using the “NewsNow” branding for the service — though the CoronavirusNow.com website continues to operate.

In some cases, the services is referred to as “NewsNow from Fox.”

I'm a lot less than thrilled by Fox News Now (or whatever the farce is called).

Here in Phoenix it follows the AZAM morning show on a sub-net but it really isn't anything like a true news show. Virtually every day they feature The Daily Lies of President Trump followed by excerpts (cut-ins) from various politico's around the country. Lately it has been mayors and police chiefs speaking about the various examples of 'police violence' but they never cover a complete speech and it invariably features people from Eastern big cities.

This morning we got a ten-minute and very passionate partial speech from the daughter of a victim of the Golden State Serial Killer (victim impact statement) but they only covered the end portion of her statement. Pretty much worthless as a news item.

It is especially unimportant here as the morning show has headline news on the half hour and features in between so many of the stories have already been covered (in some form).

I don't know what type of audience they are trying to reach but it is off the air at my house (before I am finished with my 2nd mug of coffee.....grumble, grumble!).

It's more like Fox trying to go after other outlets such as Investigate TV by Gray, Stirr by Sinclair, NewsOn by various groups, CBSN Local and others for the median audience.

It's basically Old Headline News done by Fox Television Stations and not by the National Fox News though.

That is exactly my point. It is NOT anything approaching headline news. They just cut in and out of current speeches without the beginning or ending. Or they spend time awaiting the inevitable delay waiting for the prez to do a Douglas MacArthur style late arrival.

I've seen their channel on YouTube. It looks like a KSAZ-TV in-house production that features breaking news coverage from across the country. They use feeds from sister stations, but also snippets of other stations (Fox and non-Fox affiliates from partner broadcasters) local coverage feeds. No other Fox O&O has something similar to that or CBSN Local on a subchannel, the station website, or their YouTube channel.

From what it sounds like, they're looking BEYOND the pandemic just like ABC looked beyond the Iranian Hostage Crisis when "Nightline" was created

In any case - Doesn't this belong in the NATIONAL TV board rather than the INTERNET TV board?? Just saying... :D
