Me-TV FM? Online anywhere?

Some of those modulators do have the capability of sending RDS data actually but it sounds like youre hearing a strong more consistent signal then one of those would provide

Most people use those modulators to pump Howard Stern or one of SiriusXM's uncensored rap and rock channels around the neighborhood, not to relay bland CCM from EMF.

I have them set as presets for as long as they've been doing the MeTV-FM. I actually enjoy the format. So it was just very odd.

I'm a distance from both of those transmitters BTW, but still obviously within reasonable reach of their signals.

I'm friends on FB with a bunch of engineers, including the guy at Weigel so ive posed this scenario to them, hoping we can legitimately figure out whats up

Please do, I'd like to think that I'm not losing my mind, but... :D

lol... well, i guess thats possible.. ive been in radio 17 years and i dun reckon i lost my mind ages ago

oh.. someone suggested something i cant believe i didnt think of.

listen at top of hour and see what station id you hear. all klove signals, even translators.. have an ID and its right smack near exact top of hour, :00

But it was the music too. That's what actually tipped me off before I looked at the radio. It was something worshipping God. :D

Although I'd imagine oldies like "God Only Knows," "Put Your Hand in the Hand," "Swearin' to God" and maybe even "Spirit in the Sky" could be played on the "secular" 88.7 station!

whatever station you hear IDing will give us a clue what youre actually hearing

Kloves music on hold phone system is airing their mothership from KLOV outwest.. and sometimes streaming will air a local id if the local station near you has a stream

I'm guessing this is intermod of some kind, or an unlicensed legal or not legal signal.. but im stumped at this point.

Hearing that legal id i think is going to be crucial to figuring this out

At some point in time, they said they were Air 1. Not sure if it was a Top Hour legal, or just between songs, but they said it. That coupled with the song title I saw on the RDS, put the ducks in alignment and I thought "Great, another damn Christian station. Just what we needed!"

Apologies to those who like it, but how many K-Love/Air 1 repeaters does one area need!?

well, you need to liste nto the station on 87.7 RIGHT around top of hour.. say from 57-58 to 03 after or so.. and hear what they say for a station id.. something will be there...... either a blank nothing, empty or a station...

They go by the 60 dbu contour. It's been amply proven that 95% of in-home listening occurs in the 65 dbu contour so even if there seems to be receivable overlap it is not listenable overlap.

At 5:03PM they ID'd as "Me-TV-FM" and the RDS shows that--at least on my radio.

What part of Chicago are you in?

We need CMNTMXR57 to tell us what hes hearing the station ID as to determine what hes hearing
