Tubi Makes Content Deal With Anime Studio Toei, Adding ‘One Piece’ Franchise To Its Free Streaming Library

Fox Corp. streaming service Tubi is expanding its animation offerings via a licensing agreement with Japan’s Toei Animation.

The pact, spanning seven TV series, 500 episodes and six specials, will bring six installments of the globally popular anime franchise One Piece to Tubi’s free, ad-supported platform. All installments and episodes on Tubi are available with English or Spanish subtitles.

The franchise already streams in the U.S. on subscription streaming outlets Hulu, Netflix and Crunchyroll. The installments coming to Tubi include 3D2Y, Episode of Sabo, Adventure of Nebulandia, Heart of Gold, Episode of East Blue and Episode of Skypiea.

My biggest issue with Tubi is that tons of Movies and TV shows from Tubi are listed on Comcast TV's On Demand menu, but unfortunately when you select one to try and watch it, you get an error that states you can only watch Tubi's content if you subscribe to Comcast's internet service. I get free high speed internet from another provider as part of my HOA fees, and it gets frustrating that Comcast won't allow one to shut off selections from Tubi that they cannot watch without subscribing to their internet service, yet you don't get the error saying you cannot watch, until you actually make your selection. It causes a lot of wasted time and frustration.
