Boston's WRKO-AM 680 to Debut The Grace Curley Show

Heard Howie say he's back in Mass. for awhile. While he does own a condo in Florida and may have sold his Wellsley house maybe this is a sign HCRN will originate from iHR in Medford or somewhere else in area for awhile...have not heard about whether it's at iHeart of not
other than the post above.

Wasn't he using/renting a studio from Barry Armstrong at one time? Is this the same studio?

HCRN has had its own offices/studio for a number of years now; the Barry Armstrong studio arrangement was only for about a year.

From what he's said on the show over the past year or so, he sold the Wellesley estate and now has a condo in that town.

He still denies owning the Cape Cod mansion, which probably has a dedicated bridge game room with a window overlooking the Kennedy Compound, and a padded entrance to the private bike path.

Howie and the Mail Room Manager sold the Sweelsley mansion for a substantial sum 18 months ago (it is public record)

You can bet your check book that he is legally a Florida resident for tax purposes... if you got a voter list from Swellsley I bet he is not on it.

I can't see IHrt providing him studio space.... he needs office space too, the graft he makes from the VIP experience is not going to fly with people wandering in and out of 10 Cabot Rd.

But then again WRKO and WBZ share a talk studio, WBZ uses it at night, WRKO uses it for AM drive and the former VB show... so it is vacant from after The Boston Blowhard wraps up at 10:00 AM which gives him time to do his promos for the next day and whatever commercials he has to read.... so the studio should be empty from 11A to 730 PM when Dan would in theory show up if he was indeed working from the studio and not from home.

Then there is the video wall and cameras for the HCRN shows.... is IHrt going to let them redo a almost brand new studio for that?

But if it is free it is for me, the motto of the HCRN... maybe he is getting distribution infrastructure in the deal

Kinda short-sighted on iHeart's part to time-share a talk studio. IHeart seems to have banked on the fact that the HCRN offerings would originate elsewhere, so the talk studio would only get used twice a day (for Kuhner and Dan Rea). Makes me wonder if WBZ has enough studio space for its news operation.

Howie said on the air that he voted in Florida last election.

I suppose for "optics" he still has to be "local", but I can't imagine there's any compelling reason for him to be in MA vs FL.

Except perhaps his kids are still working around here. Don't know if he has grandkids yet or not either.

I would expect his MA presence as a % of his total time to rapidly decline over the next few years.

He's got five daughters, three with the mailroom manager and 2 with his first wife. He NEVER talks about his older two daughters. IIRC one is Susie? Susan? and the other is Frances. His divorce papers with his first wife are sealed. I'm guessing one or both of the older girls may have children. One of his daughter's with the mailroom manager got married, hmmmm, last year maybe? And, I don't know if it's the same daughter that just got married, but, one of his girls was an intern with Trump in his administration. Hmmm, I wonder how she got that gig? Now that I think about it, that was the issue years ago when the 'mailbroom manager' berated him on air. She wanted one of the girls to get a job with a guest Howie was having on that day and Howie didn't bring the girl to work that day to meet said guest.

From what I have heard his daughters from the first marriage do not have much to say about him. His oldest daughter Frannie works at WBUR.

Jesse Kelly is indeed bland. Who is his audience? He seems desperate to prevent history from repeating itself -- but he wraps his message in brown paper (nothing against brown paper, of course ;) )

No YouTube stream thus far this week (looks like there is a Periscope stream instead). Going to venture a guess that YouTube banned their streaming ability again?

If they are indeed suspended, it appears to correspond with the suspension of other conservatives on YouTube, such as Steven Crowder.

Have not seen anything from Grace or Howie on YouTube this week. I suspect it's another suspension, which YouTube has been slapping conservative channels with for months now. Amazing that content that's okay for the public airways is deemed as a bannable offense on YouTube.

Here is a direct link to Periscope, which they're using to stream Grace and Howie's shows on Twitter: Howie Carr

The only content rules for broadcast have to do with obscenity.

The airwaves are owned by the public. YouTube is a private membership platform, and its terms of service are known and agreed to by all users.

With some regulations not established by the FCC, such as the prohibition of cigarette ads and the gray area today of advertising cannabis products and dispensaries in states where it is legal while the Federal Government does not provide blanket acceptance.

It's sort of like the way a beachfront restaurant may allow people who are barefoot, but Ruth's Chris does not.
