Get a kick out of these 1977 KOMO and KING (partial) newscasts

Found on YouTube and just posted on the 15th of June. Enjoy Bill Brubaker, who just died; along with Al Wallace on ch 5, a gorgeous and young Connie Thompson reporting on prostitution, John Sandifer, Bruce King, and Ray Ramsey writing temperatures on a map! Oh, and there's even a little bit of 'To Tell the Truth' afterward. Great Seattle TV history in this 30 minute aircheck.

In addition, this YouTuber also posted this half-hour snippet of KING 5's 1980 Primary Election coverage, with Mike James and Jean Enersen!

That KING video was the last set in the basement of the old KING building. In ‘81 they moved to the new modern building which has since been torn down to make way for condos.

Is this the one?

The longtime home of KING-TV in Seattle, just up the street from Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, has sold for more than $42.5 million to a real estate company that plans to tear down the existing structure to construct two 12-story office towers on the property.

Kilroy Realty Corp.’s purchase of the property, at 333 Dexter Ave. N., was noted Friday in King County property records. The real estate company has been acquiring a series of properties in the South Lake Union, paying nearly $319 million for real estate in the neighborhood over the past two years, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports.

Yessir. 333 Dexter had so much history in it. NWCN started there, and so did KONG, and HD newscasts.

Yep built in ‘81, torn down just 30 some years later. I worked there. It was a beautiful building with a central atrium. State of the art.

Dorothy Bullit had a somewhat ceremonial office in the new building. A friend and myself snuck in one evening. We were in and out within about 90 seconds but we joked for years after that we “rifled” through her files. Of course that never happened. Amazing what entertained 21 year olds after a few beers down the street at the Doghouse.

I should additionally say that we didn’t really sneak in because her door was always open. One of Bullits great traits. No disrespect implied in my earlier post.
