That's interesting. Where I am on the Chicago lakeshore, WYLL is actually not all that strong at night... there are several stations in the background, though I've not been able to ID any of them.
You're probably getting some blockage from the other buildings along Lake Shore Drive. I'm guessing their day signal from Des Plaines is probably better near you.

Where I am in the far northwest Chicago suburbs, WYLL is nowhere near as strong at night as the other 50kw Chicago flamethrowers. The signal is still good, but there's almost always stuff underneath. A few years back, SC told me in a post that WYLL's night pattern was putting about 31kw in my direction from its south suburban nighttime transmitter site.

WYLL is much stronger from their daytime transmitter site where I am, but I'm not very far from that site.

Super-duper Es opening right now on Edinburgh IN SDR. 107.9 MUF and CO/NE/KS all over the band. Semis wiped out. Chicago DXers - check your FM radios!!!
MeTV FM 87.7 reported as close as southern MO!!

Still 108+, ND/SD/WY from Edinburgh IN. Last log 94.9 The Zoo KTZU Velva/Minot.

ESkip finally made it to East Tennessee with a couple of loggings and lots of UNIDs.
93.7 KWYR, Chamberlain, SD "Magic 93", rock.
97.3 TENT KAML, Gillette WY, w'/ Seacrest American Top 40
97.7 KNBZ Redfield (Aberdeen SD), Backtraxx USA, news.
105.5 KMON Roscoe SD, "Maverick FM", classic country, news
Mystery, at the start of the opening, I heard a "V89" but it was on 92.9. The only V89 I could find was WVFS, 89.7 in Tallahassee FL, but the skip wasn't going that direction, and I couldn't find a secondary FM or translator for it. I realize it could be a "B89" or "V89" bringing up someone else's translator.

Something wiped out local WDVX on 89.9 and its translator on 93.9, no idea what stations on which frequency.

Full list of Es logged from Edinburgh, Indiana Global Tuners this morning. My goodness, multi-multi swapping all over the place. 3 deep on many channels. Some channels were swapping so much that it felt like meteor scatter bursts. This is what happens when the MUF reaches ch 7 and 162mhz! In fact, Bill Hepburn in Ontario had multiple pilots on RF 7 mixed with WBBZ-DT Buffalo that were definitely Es, and another one mixed with a semi-local on RF 9! The MUF was reported at 198mhz at one point. I started DXing about 11:45AM CT.

First time I've posted here in years...but a great E-skip opening into south central Tennessee today (Sunday, June 27) at midday. Started truck, FM had been on 107.9 semi-local and noticed RDS said 'KELO'. I recognized the call letters as South Dakota and began dial scanning. Here's what I heard:
92.3: KORQ Rapid City, S.D. (verbal ID)
92.7: KGFX-FM Pierre, S.D. (verbal ID)
93.1: KRCS Rapid City, S.D. (verbal ID)
94.1: KSDN Aberdeen, S.D. (verbal ID)
94.9: No ID. a K-Love station
94.9: KZTU Velva-Minot, N.D. (RDS 94.9 The Zoo!)
95.3: KLXS Pierre, S.D. (multiple ads for Pierre businesses)
95.7: No ID, just heard ‘K95.7’
96.1: KIXX Watertown, S.D. (Watertown mentions in ads)
96.7: CILT Steinbach, Manitoba (assuming; weather forecast with Celsius temps, near North Dakota border and the only Canadian 96.7 in area; didn’t hear actual ID or ads)
97.3: KKRC Sioux Falls, S.D. (verbal ID)
97.7: KNBZ Aberdeen, S.D. (Dave Koz Weekend show; ad for AutoMax Aberdeen)
99.5: KOLY-FM Mobridge, S.D. (Star 99.5 verbal ID)
100.7: KMLO Lowry-Mobridge, S.D. (verbal ID)

107.7: KABD Ipswich-Aberdeen. S.D. (verbal ID as 107.7 The Shark)
107.9: KELQ Flandreau-Sioux Falls, S.D. (RDS)

The Chicago Lake Shore is quite away from the maximum direction in the WYLL Night Pattern. There is a shallow null toward the Fenton, MI station WCXI and other stations on 1160 to the East, which crosses part of South Chicago. They had to increase the Night Power on WCXI to be Class B, so the null has to remain.

This shows it roughly. The NIF is quite a bit higher than 2.5 mV/m though.

K-LOVE is Aberdeen SD, KLRJ 94.9. The only 'K95.7' I see is Calvert City, KY, but that would be on tropo of course. I'm not sure what it could be in the SD/ND area.
Good catch on The Mix 105.7 in Dickinson - they have a great mix of music for a supposed 'hot AC'. Tons of rarities from the late '70s up to today.

That is one very impressive list. Thanks for sharing....

CILT is the one that jumped out at me. Their COL, Steinbach, is about 45 minutes west of Winnipeg. No shortage of big Winnipeg sticks, so I'm a little suprised you didn't hear one or more of those. You also mentioned that you didn't catch any ads during your time with CILT. If you had, it might have been for a car dealer. Steinbach is best known for being home to nearly a dozen large new car dealerships. I've been through (or by) the place a number of times during business trips making the run between Winnipeg and Duluth, The dealerships promote themselves jointly in Winnipeg media with the slogan "Worth the Drive". I've got to admit the sight of all those dealerships and shiny new cars lined up in what's otherwise just a little prairie town is something to behold.

I'm in Vallejo. CA to housesit my brother's dog and 2 cats

Today going to Safeway scanning FM, I got

106.3 the Beat KJZY Santa Rosa 1,620 Watts
97.7 the River KVRV Santa Rosa 2,050 Watts

Your 103.9 would likely be KUOO Spirit Lake, IA, as there is a Boondocks Convenience Store in the Okoboji area of Iowa. No idea about what K95.7 would be unless it's a very recent rebrand of one of the 95.7s in that part of the country.
104.7 would be KFGO Hope, ND as there is a MinnDak Market in Fargo

So does another station i know of.. :) And im still on afternoons.. from Alaska!

Did you see my email I sent you? Had KUWR and KCGY at blistering strength on July 1st, but 106.1 was all but blank, save for QRM and the weak Yakima translator. I was disappointed. No sign of Mr. Paul Walker at his voicetracking studios in the Great White North. :(

"Stationized". My grandparents had a console radio with "stationized" pushbuttons.
What stations were on the pushbuttons? The 1938 Westinghouse that my Grandmother eventually gave me originally had WJR 750, WWJ 920, CKLW 1030, WFDF 1310, and WBCM 1410. After 1941, the order changed, and each the tuned presets only covered part of the band, so they had to remove the gummed tabs because CKLW and WFDF moved way down the dial, so they made new ones with blank labels they typed the call letters on. So it was WJR 760, CKLW 800, WFDF 910, WWJ 950, and WBCM 1440. Somewhere, if someone didn't throw them out, I have the pages with the gummed labels on them that came with the Westinghouse. Radio repairmen probably made a decent amount of money retuning pushbuttons 1941, especially where there were stations with big frequency changes. The separate oscillator and antenna adjustments made the stations come in the little better, since the RF and OSC tracking was usually a little off. I noticed that the shadow on the 6U5 tube was a little narrower.

I been scanning around for stations that I haven't heard before, but it's hard living in California

But I heard

KKBN-FM 93.5 Twain Harte, CA
KZST-FM 100.1 Santa Rosa, CA
KDON-FM 102.5 Salinas, CA

What stations were on the pushbuttons?
To answer your question.....

My grandparents lived in Woodstock, IL. That's about eight miles northwest of my current location. I believe the radio was a Stromberg-Carlson, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm also not 100% sure about the buttons, but to the best of my memory.....
