More MNF on ABC

I really don't see MNF back on ABC full time; I could see selective games on there if they have meaning like tonight (Rams vs. Cardinals). I love the Manningcast. Best thing to happen to MNF since John Madden joined in 2002; If anything that is the main broadcast team on a platform that is different from it's Sunday counterparts.

Bachelor. Actually The Bachelorett.

That aside, wasn’t it Dancing with the Stars that occupied most Mondays?

This is all just part of the agreement, not a precursor to something else.

Also on ESPN+
I noticed that last night! I'm a cord-cutter with an ESPN+ subscription and I had been locked out of MNF previously because the games were available online only to those who had a cable or satellite subscription that included ESPN and its associated networks. But last night's game was available to all, even those of us with no TV at all.

When MNF was on ABC, it built a brand that viewers could associate with high powered football, and I'm glad it's making a comeback. But, like others on here, I love the Manning-cast. (Just don't put any current players on there anymore, LOL). I suspect we'll see a transition period to find out what the audience prefers more.

have they ever thought about putting the team's radio networks on letting viewers chose between the visiting or home team's radio networks? they might be available on Tunein or Siriusxm but there's audio sync issues

In this day and age, I don't see why they couldn't do it. The technical capabilities are certainly there, it's just a matter of making it happen, and the audio sync issues would be fixable. This could be especially useful if Amazon gets ahold of the Sunday Ticket package, they could handle the different feeds like they do with the Fox Thursday Night Football telecasts; on the Sunday daytime games, it would be a minimum of three feeds--the main CBS/Fox telecast, the home radio feed, and the road radio broadcast, and also separate feeds for Spanish audio (one for TV, the other for the home and/or road team).

Not sure what you're suggesting. You mean for ESPN to offer viewers different audio feeds from local radio stations? ESPN doesn't have the radio rights to the NFL. It's more of a legal issue than a technical one.

Are you (or NYP) suggesting that Tafoya's vaccination status is in question?
Nope.

It's not what she did, it's what she said:

https://decider.com/2021/12/13/mich...27.952901313.1639423528-1355623790.1621276672

Suspect her appearance and what she said on The View ruffled some feathers at Disney/ABC and NBC Sports 😳and she was probably told to consider a couple weeks off and ponder her future with her current employer.

Thus, my prior response still stands intact.

EDIT: I suspect before the beginning of the next NFL season, if she wants to continue her employment status, it'll be in 'new media' (e.g. podcast or gambling-based entity - maybe both)

Oof her time on the View did not go well. This pretty much would prove that she is going against a federal injunction, and the general populace at this time, which is a rare double whammy. (Rarely do the gov and the people agree on anything). This would explain why she wants out as well, to avoid any complications relating to her/vs. her employer's stance on Covid, as well as getting out of the way of the public.

But now... I must also mention that this whole thing still doesn't prove whether she's vaccinated or not. You can be vaxxed and still be anti-mandate, so she could be, and thus not against her employer's wishes. However, the heat she got on the View might make NBC nervous about keeping her on, which is a shame because she does so great on SNF. In today's world, your 20+ years of good can be wiped out in an instant if the general consensus changes. :( I don't really agree with too many of her statements here, but that was a big whoosh when she said we don't know what will happen to the vaccines. Thanks, Omicron and Delta for just screwing it up!

All in all though, it's hard to tell if NBC Sports would have kept her on or not... She never gave them that chance since she effectively quit. Hopefully, she will find a line of work as an independent reporter or like you said, in the sports-betting department.

Look, you've seen the backstory in all of this. She got the opportunity to onto that non-sports show to give dissenting viewpoints (from the show's perspective) in order to do something different than her 'day job' of being a sports reporter.

She did that, and it eventually distilled into her making the career decision she's making now. She's been on the sideline for three weeks, most likely, consulting with family and friends on what her options are. I didn't look (nor do I care) about how her contract was structured. Was the end of this football season her last on her current contract? Did either party have the opportunity to exercise an additional period of time?

Perhaps, she's just sick and tired of hanging around a freezing cold sideline in December and January. 🌨️❄️

She obviously will get an opportunity to do a few more years worth, thru one (or more) of the venues that I stated above. Recall that Amazon is wanting to be a bigger player in this sandbox called NFL broadcasting. Does she potentially join Al Michaels over there next season?
