Nearly a third of today’s iTunes top 100 is taken up by oldies

I wonder how many of the "listeners" aren't the undesirables over 55?

Keep in mind that iTunes is a subscription service, not an advertiser supported service. If people paid subscriptions for radio, their age wouldn't matter. That's why you have oldies and standards radio on Sirius, where people pay for what they hear. Over-55s are considered "undesirable" by advertisers. Radio stations don't see them that way.
