LaPowerFM KTWL

I noticed a few days ago KTWL was off the air and then the next day it seems like they’re back on their original tower. Either that or they’ve slightly reduced power on their CP.

Drove through the area recently and I picked up KTWL just fine. It is still Texas Mix. Some of you are confused and need to quit referring to it as LaPowerFM, which is something it has never been.

I’ve been in Waller and I can barely pick up KTWL. Power is a lot stronger

And KTWL is back to normal. They seem to be back on their CP. KCVE is also back to audio where there’s a brief digital artifacting sound literally every 5 seconds. KJHJ has also had that sound issue whenever it’s on the air.

That shouldn’t be possible for K287BQ if it is legal. Of course, one never knows in Houston.
We all know they are not operating legally. 😂 At last check, PowerFM still blasts in over Texas Mix near my house on Lake Conroe... where the KTWL transmitter is *much* closer than the location K287BQ is licensed to broadcast from.

How is this even remotely associated to Power 105.3fm K287BQ Or KTWL??
I think it is frustration over the FCC busting translators elsewhere while all sorts of shenanigans go on with translators here in Houston, for years on end.

Anyone think the 104.5 and 105.3 translators are operating at authorized power? And has anyone found an originating station for either of them?

I think any rational person would obviously call K287BQ's miracle coverage an act of God. The FCC can't do anything about God's will! If a 99 watt translator with a directional pattern can be heard inside the 60dbu contour of another class C3 station, then it's a miracle and nothing else! Leave them alone you heathens!

🙄

Now if I may digress for a minute; before being banned, 713+ claimed that 99.5 was broadcasting from downtown. IIRC, he didn't see what the big deal was since both the 99.5 translator in Near Northside and Missouri City were owned by the same entity. Seems like something the FCC should look into IMO.
