What do you suggest the government do?Unless the government intervenes, big tech will continue to crimple the fabric of media, retail, or print. we need to do something if u still care for old media

I noted the roaring silence from Darren after my question. One could easily argue, that part of the reason TV is less competitive in modern society is because of antiquated government rules. The fact that a parent will allow their preteen to surf the Internet on their phone, tablet, or at home, exposes them to far worse than someone swearing, or programming that might contain controversial subjects or even nudity.Media needs less government regulations IMO. Yes, outlook on profanity and/or complete falsehoods should be monitored. Beyond that, let them exist. But political positions should not be governed by anyone as stated in the constitution.
Not to go down a rabbit hole on a completely different subject; but it's safe to say is what one person considers pornographic, may be acceptable to another. Old National Geographic magazine's is a prime example.Suggestive content, and even pornographic content can be easily accessed by anyone today. Yes, say you are 18 or over and you can rip right into it. I don’t know how this will effect society but my guess is not much. I will even say it might actually reduce sex crimes. I know that is a strange answer, but think about it. Research does back this up. Fascinating turn of events in recent decades. Is porn actually good for society?
Interesting comparison. One could argue that technically, Alex Jones provides a form of moderation to his programming, because he is the programming. Jones target's his audience by saying crazy crap that gets his audience synapse firing. Once he draws them in with "content", he sells them expensive, useless vitamin supplements. Like any talk/Internet hosts, it's never about ideology, but about money. Full stop.If you substitute "content" where you said "obscenity" -- then we have already seen what happens from cable "news" when it's a free-for-all, say whatever-you want (truth be damned) landscape. Someone can ask Alex Jones how it's turning out for him....
