They preempted that for this?

Fox had a college football game go past the allowed time, thus forcing WWE SmackDown to air on a 11 minute tape delay in the US, and WWE fans outside the US instead were the only ones seeing a live broadcast of a WWE show as WWE airs live in Canada, the UK and a few other countries, i think this is the first time WWE had to air on a tape delay in the US while air live elsewhere in the world due to sports bleeding into their airtime, so local news will air about 9 to 11 minutes late tonight on Fox on the east coast.

Noticed this just a short time ago, watching KPNX (NBC) here in Phoenix around 9 to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas in NYC light up, but instead noticed the feed was airing on a delay. Appears to be a situation where the feed 12 News got screwed since there wasn't breaking news that was on that delayed the feed at all although I know NBC is one of, if not the lone broadcast network that has a Mountain Time Zone specific feed to affiliates rather than just having them record the East Coast feed.

Last Friday December 2nd, 2022 KDSM Fox 17 Des Moines has been airing soccer all week from 9am to 3pm and joining Drew Barrymore in progress for the 3pm episode. Last Friday they joined in progress with Drew Barrymore again at 3pm but they pre-empted the 3:30pm episode for a repeat of Two and a half Men instead.

the morning shows for ABC, CBS and NBC were possibly preempted (or in WFAA's case, was preempted) in Dallas today as there was a massive tornado/severe thunderstorm outbreak this morning and several tornadoes touched down in North Texas.

I never noticed this before. I just started looking at the TV listings in one paper that does daily listings for prime time (with my library card I can see the eEdition) and it shows "60 Minutes" being joined in progress after football. One station doesn't show that, but the other does.
