Carlos (Juan Ward) Lopez, unofficial Spanish-language Play-by-Play for Vols.

By day, Carlos Lopez is a teacher and kickers coach at Alcoa High School. He's now increasingly known for his Spanish-language highlight videos of Tennessee Volunteers football games, which he calls with the enthusiasm of a South American soccer match. He has fans among even people who don't speak a word of Spanish, and already an appearance in a commercial. Here's more:

Lopez called the first half of the Orange Bowl game on Twitter:
and sang the first authentically translated version of "Rocky Top" in Spanish.

Could the Vols add a Spanish broadcast? I imagine our lone Spanish-language radio station 93.5 La Lider (WKZX) would be interested.

That brings up the issue of how many Spanish dominant Hispanics have any interest in American football. The research I have done in the past in larger markets indicates a number relatively close to zero.
