NBC Sports hopes to bring back the NBA, sources say

Even if the current national NBA rightsholders renew, could Disney move the NBA Finals from ABC to ESPN in an attempt to slow down cord-cutting?
There are 2 reasons why the MLB and NFL don't have their championship games on cable: 1. Anti-Trust violations and 2. You want the biggest audience for your biggest event. OTA networks are the only way it solves both.

NFL on Amazon Prime,MLB on Apple TV,NHL ESPN Plus.
The ESPN+ hockey games are local broadcasts, with a few exceptions. The Thursday Night games, whether on Amazon Prime or previously on the networks, aren't exactly top games. MLB on Apple, I have no idea since I don't use crApple products.

Thursday Night Football got its biggest numbers from the broadcast outlets in that team's market week to week. Overall nation viewership was down 40%. Friday Night Baseball on Apple+ was an absolute disaster in its first season. They've had to hire all new commentators. They have hired people with actual play-by-play experience rather than Podcasters and YouTube stars for season 2.

So they will be pulling the Superbowl from network? I don’t think so Tim.
I didnt say they were. I was merely responding to your thought that You won’t see the Super Bowl, World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, or NBA Finals on streaming.
which is incorrect. You can stream them if you desire. I do not have an ABC network licensed in my market therefore the only way for me to see ABC programming is via streaming (Hulu for shows). ESPN app allows me to view the NBA finals and Stanley Cup with no issues

You can stream them but they are showed on broadcast TV. That is not true streaming. You can't watch Netflix or Amazon Prime on cable. The day these sporting events are streaming exclusive is when everything changes.

Sprectrum has Netflix and Youtube Channel numbers.

I assume if its like my Directv Stream box there are channel numbers listed for Amazon Prime, Netflix and a couple others. So instead of hitting "apps" and finding Netflix you can hit channel 190 and boom its there (of course you still need a subscription)

Exactly, it’s just a shortcut to the app.

I've seen that on my grid on Spectrum but can't get to them. But I'm on the streaming app only, so I might not get them because of that.
