Cartoon Network's Adult Swim to expand to 7 p.m.

North of the border, CN switched channels earlier this week, moving to the English Teletoon channel (French version is keeping the Teletoon name), with the former CN becoming the Canadian version of Boomerang.

The kids I know don't watch cartoons. They like reality-based shows with kids as stars. Kids as young as 3 years old are looking for shows with stars who look like them. Not animation. That tends to come later. What's discussed in the link sounds familiar to me, that a lot of young adults watch cartoons, although not Bugs Bunny, but rather fantasy-based animation or things such as South Park or The Simpsons.

does it matter in the streaming age when people can watch whatever they want when they want? kids can watch cartoons at 2 in the morning, grown ups can watch cartoons at 2 in the afternoon when the kids are at school

I think that's addressed in the article. He says "there's an audience for us in linear." I know that kids as young as 2 are familiar with watching saved video on phones. They want what they want when they want it, and they want to be able to make the selection on the screen. It's amazing to watch. For those at home, they also know how to use Alexa or verbal commands to the TV. The minute they can speak, they start telling the media what they want.

how long until the few members of "One Million Moms" complain?
That is what I was going to say I'll add another censorship org The Prudes Television Censorship Council the P stands for prude, not parents. The PTC didn't like when Adult Swim started at 8PM a few years ago I wonder if they will issue a press release with the lies they spew/spread theses censorship groups can be sued by Hollywood & the studios which I don't get why they don't sue The 10 Moms that don't have a million members & The PTC as well. WWE won and The PTC paid $3 million to them in 2001 they settled with WWE when the judge denied throwing the lawsuit out.

Great now they can add another hour of extra episodes for King of the Hill, American Dad, & Bob’s Burgers and we’ll have 4 hours of them instead of 3. Can’t wait to watch that.

Seriously with all the shows Adult Swim has had in the past 20 years I don’t get why they need 3 hours of recycled Fox shows. FXX and TBS has taken care of that. Adult Swim is long past it’s glory days.

This might seem like odd programming choice for Adult Swim but why not move AEW Dynamite & Rampage to it. It’s owned by Warner Bros/Discovery, it wouldn’t conflict with any sport’s schedules, and I’m pretty sure a lot of AEW fans watch Adult Swim. The AEW audience is kind of on the weird geeky side which is perfect for Adult Swim.
