They may still be a strong 6+ performer, but what has happened to KQED-FM in the sales demos? It's been awhile since they were top 5 in any of then.

Since KQED doesn't sell spots it doesn't matter much to them. Far more consequential for KCBS.

95.7 'The Game' edges KNBR in SF. Assume that's never happened before. Likely switches back to the normal trend once the Warriors season concludes.

...and when San Francisco Giants game broadcasts on KNBR are included next month.
(Opening Day was Thu. 3/30 - first day of April survey period.)

Hmmm......It seems that the Spanish language music format are doing poorly in the ratings.
This has been something we noticed for a while. KVVF being the worst offender, and a station that flipped to an English format and failed. I wish one of these bottom rated stations would just do some active rock/alternative format, the only hole I give a shit about. I’d be a lot happier with our market situation if it wasn’t 7 stations playing the same music.

if I ever win the lottery, I’ve said it before but I’m gonna offer EMF so much money for 107.3 that they would be impossible to turn it down. I’ll even carry them on the HD2 to sweeten the deal! 😂

KRZZ ended up at #5 and #6 in some demos and day parts for the general market. Univision stations KSOL, KBRG, and KVVF have been struggling in the ratings for almost 2 years (Not showing top 10 in any demo) KSOl has been the worst offender.

What's the "AQH Persons to All Stations" for San Francisco metro?

I'd like to calculate if KOIT-FM was online only, how many concurrent listeners on average would they have?

San Francisco 25-54 listeners are unusual. For the oldest demo, not one but two Top 40 stations make the list, KYLD and KMVQ. Plus Hip Hop KMEL which also aims young. But mature stations you'd think would be there aren't in the top six. No Classic Hits KOSF, Classic Rock KSAN or KUFX, NPR KQED, Sports KNBR-FM or Urban Adult KBLX.

In most cities, in the 25-54 demo, you'd see some of these older-skewing formats. And you'd think the Top 40 and Hip Hop stations would only be found in the younger demos.

These are some of the best numbers KYLD has seen in ages.

The Bay Area loves top 40 and adult contemporary music for sure.

KGO is, unsurprisingly, practically at rock bottom.

I don't see KFRC-FM (106.9) as a separate entry. Is that lumped in with KCBS-AM? And speaking of KCBS, I noticed the ratings for KCBS-AM-STR are quite mediocre. Does "-STR" mean that's the online stream?

KGO doesn't rely on ratings for its cash flow anymore.

KCBS-AM and KFRC-FM are combined with an 8.0. KCBS-AM-STR is the stream.

@TheBigA , @michael hagerty Got it, thanks!

That's because Cumulus has made the station it's version of BIN.
BIN?

KGO doesn't rely on ratings for its cash flow anymore.
I still think it's a total waste of a good frequency. Even conservative talk would be better, except the market for that here is pretty much saturated already (and all the liberal talk seems to have moved to FM for some reason).

Yes, the Black Information Network, which is iHeart's national network that isn't dependent on local ratings.

I still think it's a total waste of a good frequency.

That's your opinion. They owned this station for ten years and tried several things with it, including local talk. It was a money pit.

Anyone who has a better idea is welcome to make them an offer.

They already own KSFO. They can at least argue that sports betting complements KNBR.

And they’re not the first to waste a killer signal. Look at what 610 has been for the past 18 years.

No kidding!

Ah, OK.

BIN is on 910 (not sure what the call is), and their stupid interference makes KVIN 920 almost impossible to listen to in the morning and early afternoon (interestingly, reception improves at some point in the early evening before KVIN switches to night power).

Fair enough. I understand the need for cutting costs, I just wish it didn't have to be sports betting, of all things (and in a city that decisively voted against legalizing it, in fact). I just think it was poor taste on iHeartMedia's part.

At least it wasn't a religious station though. We already have more than enough of those!
