NPR temporarily stopped it's twitter accounts in a "state-media" beef with Elon Musk

Yes, but given the average lifespan of a PC and the fact that the reads and writes that come with average usage of said PC come nowhere close to the MTBF of SSDs, the difference actually doesn't matter too much in practice.

The main thing that bothers me is that I don't think information can be easily recovered from a failed SSD (the information is effectively lost), whereas a mechanical drive with a failed head or motor mechanism can simply have its platter(s) transferred to a working unit (the information is still mostly intact).
They still make lots of mechanical drives. The most advanced SSDs, though, are coming from China.

And if you go outside the US, it is more extreme. One of my daughters was in Chile recently and chanced to see the annual new car exhibit at one of the huge malls. Of about 75 cars on display, over 65 were from China and none from the US.
China is considered the 2nd largest economy after the US for a reason!

The good thing with SSDs is that one has access to data on them about remaining un-exhausted capacity which allows for planned replacement on a timely basis.
 
Hopefully she will bring some stability to the platform.

There are reports that the blue checks have returned.
She may indeed bring some financial stability for a time, but ultimately Elon can't help himself from creating public spats and culture war battles.

I think what they'll discover is that the two are related. You can't have the kind of talk Elon wants without creating an atmosphere that is not what would be considered a "good environment for sales." That's why twitter tried to stop it under previous ownership.

People moaning all over it :"she's going to bring back censorship!". They aren't going to be happy if they can't say the N word and harrass people. That of course isn't good for sales

Well, four days ago Twitter's head of brand safety and ad quality left. Shortly after, Twitter's head of content moderation left over a issue with the way Elon wants Twitter to allow bashing of LGBTQ people on the site.

It's going to be difficult to lure advertisers back, when the company can't seem to decide whether it's going to become another Truth Social, 4Chan, or a safe, welcoming, social media outlet.

...And that can change daily or even hourly, depending on the whims and mood of Mr. Musk and whom he wishes to favor or pander to or fight with on a given day.

My wife's Prius just passed the decade mark, and she's starting to think about a more modern car with more current safety features, and maybe a bit better fuel economy (though the current one's not bad). A year ago, we would be candidates for a Tesla Model 3. Today you couldn't bribe us enough to test drive a Muskmobile, much less sign a sales contract. That's the key downside of being a superrich, superarrogant superdick.

This is while Elon Musk was ranting in public to go after NPR without evidence when Reuters and AP investigated him directly over all the lawsuits Musk himself and allies were in.
