KITS 105.3 Stunting... Return of Live 105?

First current is “Lost” by Linkin Park. As it was a song cut from 2003’s “Meteora” and got finished and released for the 20th anniversary, it’s a good safe choice.

Seems like they are playing mostly playing a mix of Classic Alternative tracks so far but they seem to be including some currents with a heavy focus on 80s and 90s Alternative as they state that they will play new music too. Ironically, they are doing a montage of San Francisco hits after a few songs just to introduce the format after the format change.
Yup, and even played a 2022 release “Lost - Linkin Park”

Interested to see what else they pull out.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how rock friendly the station sounds so far! I really like the imaging, too.

Definitely not an artsy vibe like what's heard on KNRK.

Agreed.

KNRK has a very laid back Portland "Vibe" to it. The morning show is one guy, Greg and his dog, Biscuit.

I don't think Live 105 is going after that vibe.

It seems to focus on the history of “Live” while also focusing on newer Alternative acts as well. Seems heavier on rock titles than most Alternative stations owned by Audacy like Seattle’s KNDD. KNRK is more of a Portland vibed Alternative station playing alt rock from the 80s through today but is more laid back.

It is the #1 most played current in alternative radio now. So yes, very safe. Almost a classic.

Once again, this is just music. The core of this station will be whatever personality it has, the interaction it creates with the listeners, how the station integrates on-air and online, and then how it creates a physical presence in the city.

Another current!

Beach Weather - Sex, Drugs, etc (2023)
We also got a 2015 song by Tame Impala. This is a very very nice mix! Props to programmers. Hope the local talent and DJ returns timely. I don’t know if I’ll say this is going to smash any ratings or billing but I’m sure it can do better then an average of sub 2.0.

so far it seems like all currents audacy just plays (which they don't have a lot of em for many of their stations). decent so far but eh, hope it improves later on.

anyway back to chaddy1x

“An Honest Mistake” by The Bravery got pulled out. Song was way bigger in the UK than in the States despite them being an American band.

I am sure I will get 20 negative responses, but I wonder if an alt focused Adult Hits could work anywhere? Some classic altermative acts included in alt stations, some 80s new wave like Joy Division could be mixed in with the Adult Hits and be a hybrid station of sorts. I have heard Franz Ferdinand on these stations, but curious if making a full hybrid of classic alt/adult hits would work?

It's also a truly great song from one of the biggest bands in the format. :)

It amazes me that song was never included on any studio albums from Linkin Park.
