How about proponents of the death penalty? What about the guy carrying a gun recently who shot a black thirteen year old who he thought might be prowling cars? Was the guy carrying the gun have the right to take a life?

What makes it interesting is that that at least here, you get both sides. Not so on talk radio. And we're not hostile about it.
Sounds like the right wing autocrats in Fla. and Texas.
They know nothing about "freedom."
Many don't like many things. A REAL "conservative" wouldn't force the HEAVY HAND of government to CENSOR school text books, drag shows and all sorts of views.
Ain't that the truth. Talk radio, a so-called "bastion of freedom" is so hostile to anyone who doesn't agree with the hosts or share the same narrow views of the fringy political party.
Except Noory has never had the charm or curiosity factor Art Bell had.
That is not universally true. Dennis Prager treats those who disagree with him with respect. In fact, they get 'in-the-front-of-the-line' when they call. Where he draws the line is when a caller seems to want to filibuster, and not have a conversation, or won't answer his questions. Sometimes Dennis' questions are clarification purposes.
I don't listen much to Hugh Hewitt, but he seems to be ok too.
But don't both of your talk show host examples believe in trampling basic human rights like freedom of speech; ex, drag show bans, and book banning?
Both are also incredibly white, incredibly old and incredibly male. If you didn’t know how they sounded, you couldn’t tell them apart in a police lineup. Which is pretty much the case with the entirety of Salem’s talk roster.
The fact they are both painfully boring to listen to conceals how atrocious their political views are.
It would be nice if talk radio covered other topics besides national politics. I manage to have lots of great conversations with people without even touching on politics. (Then again, if it did, I might get shot).
Talking about anything other than politics is a one-way ticket to 65+!
How is that different from where they are now?
Some stations do mix in other topics, but it seems (with some exceptions, people want to talk more about Trump/Biden than the mayor's race. Some of that has changed with Covid, (in my area with lawsuits about "my kid has a constitutional right to spread Covid to your kid"
Since the Trump indictment, the GQP has been rolling out co-ordinated anti-DOJ, ant-Biden messages. Every MAGA legislator, radio talk show/podcast host, you name it tweeting the same message at the same time, the latest being allegations that President Biden and Hunter received a $5 billion bribe and Sen. Chuck Grassley has 17 recordings. This somehow is supposed to show that Our Lord and Savior, God's Chosen President and World's Most Perfect Man is pure as the driven snow and will cause the Federal Government to drop all charges against him and arrest Biden. The GQP claims that they were "this" close to exposing all the beans on Biden, ending his Presidency. (Then they could run against Scary Woman of Color™ next year). The DOJ, in MAGA world, only indicted Trump to save the Biden Presidency.
Major broadcasting companies are spreading this nonsense, and they of course are allowed to

Perhaps..But in terms of non-political unbiased talk-radio, that ship sailed a long time ago...the Dean of this type of talk radio was the late Herb Jepko whose program "Nightcaps" originated on KSL. He took calls (mostly from older folks, retiree's etc) from all over western North America, mostly from rural areas. I think before the show was syndicated it was simulcast on WHAS to try and reach the rest of the country. The callers talked mostly about their local weather conditions , their families, and occupations. The program apparently had trouble securing a lot of sponsors because of its demos and never made any real money, but in it's heyday it had a very large audience.
