or Radio Industry News, Radio Show Prep, Radio Promotions, Radio Station Data, Podcast News

Top 5+ demo rankings analysis will become available via AllAccess.com on Wed. 8/9/2023.

Excellent ratings for The Wolf once again. I’d expect it to remain that way throughout summer and fall, cool off in winter, and repeat again next year (unless anyone else where to try country, which doesn’t seem likely).

I would have imagined KPNW would be getting a bit more traction by now. What are they doing for promotion?

That might be the worst ratings I've ever seen for Spirit 105.3. 1.7? Are Christians leaving the Puget Sound area? 37% according to this (Religious Landscape Study) are non-religious and many are atheist.
94.1 jumped up again, Delilah is the train that keeps it running. Nearly made it to 3rd place. Take *that*, 'feel good' Warm!

What can KPNW try to get up into the 3's, other than tightening up the playlist? A piddly 0.9 just sparks another format flip countdown for a frequency that has had mixed success since the fall of KWJZ.

Wow, some interesting numbers. Last week, I began to think that at the first decline of KPNW, I'd give them two years. I think it's time to start that clock. Sure Hubbard seems to be committed to the format, but I can't imagine it lasting long with the numbers they're pulling. In other news, it'll never happen, but it would be wild if iHeart decided to flip 1090 to KUBE and dump conservative talk. That would be interesting to watch, as the HD2 version gets better numbers than any other HD in the market, and better than the current 1090 format.

It is 2023, no one who listens to KUBE on HD2, is going to go the AM to listen.

Perhaps the combo of KEXP and KNDD will be too much to overcome. But I suspect they'll give more time, and it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Maybe they're just too cool for school. The launch of The Sound went a lot quicker.

It hasn't really hurt KEXP either. They're still #1 in demo.
Back in the day KMTT (The Mountain) AAA was also super slow out of the gate. By the time PPM was rolled out, it became apparent that the AAA format wasn't a thing after all.

KBCO and WXRT are measured under what system, exactly?

Entercom tried to steer KMTT in a classic rock direction (similar to 99.5 KQMT in Denver) because they believed at the time that was a better direction with the introduction of PPM. Disturbed the base of the station and it didn't recover.

Seems that the now Audacy knows better than to do the same with XRT.

I suppose the one possibility of a flip to Country (as much as I would hate to see it happen) would be KPNW flipping back to Country. I'm sure the music and any Bull-related audio is stored on a hard drive, and physical items are in a storage room. It wouldn't take a lot of effort to bring back The Bull. But I feel Hubbard will wait until the 1 year point before deciding the fate of KPNW
