Nielsen figured out one of the fake translators: KFNC-F2

How would they pick it apart if it shows that what the screenshot said is false?

As someone whos posted pictures of his facility on Facebook when nothing is legally wrong with it, engineers and radio nerds have picked apart things for other reasons.

It's clear. Originating station is KFNC. What don't you understand?
No it is not. Explain how 92.5 runs Sugar Land Space Cowboys games six days a week while KFNC has different programming. And explain how the commercials on 92.5 are often different from those airing on 97.5. And explain how on weekends 92.5 and 97.5 often have different programming due to sports play-by-play rights.

And once again, don’t claim “KFNC HD-2” as an originating station as that does not exist.

Still waiting for your answer as to what the originating station for your co-owned K287BQ is.

I dont think

a simple call to 93q would be enough to understand why they are included in the Legal Id. I would expect all that to change when radio one takes over

Somehow, I have a feeling that one or both of these people are the former arsonist, now self-proclaimed pastor/attorney/engineer in control of 850. Just a hunch, I could be wrong.
I thought that subject was off-limits on this discussion board. At least, that' what I was informed. Does this restriction only apply to certain members, or does it apply to all without prejudice. Perhaps one of the moderators could elaborate further.

Because this translator is not operating in compliance. And as long as there is a lack of enforcement from the Commission, this noncompliance will continue. I'm not sure what can be done to compel the Federal Communications Commission to do what they are required by statute to do, but I'm open to suggestions. Perhaps if the current Administration would indict the illegal translator licensees in the Houston/Galveston market rather than issuing frivilous indictments against a former president in order to meddle in a national election, we could clean things up considerably.

Can translators operate in excess of their authorized power and originate programming? No. Are translators in the Houston/Galveston market operating in excess of their authorized power and originating programming. Yes. This is an intended consequence of the Great Translator Invasion a couple of decades ago.

What I wanna know is.

Houston seems to be THE HOT BED of translator non compliance, its pretty clear cut across multiple licensees and signals. Wouldnt take much for the FCC to come in, sweep the band and clean up.

but its been ignored for years.

Other times, you see one isolated case of non compliance somewhere.. that took alot of work to nail down..... and it was done quickly though.

Why?

Is it because no ones complained in houston? And it really has to be a licensed broadcast providing concrete, measured, calibrated evidence.

But i can't imagine there hasnt been a single complaint from another broadcaster.. there has to have been.

So whats the deal?

My theory is that it's either not politically correct for the FCC to swoop in and issue citations and fines to the licensees because of their ethnic status, or inforcement would not be in the best interest of the current political administration, and they have instructed the Commission to look the other way.

they are shutting down ethnic pirates in NJ, NY, FL and MA... non hispanic ethnic stuff

Some category as the houston scoflaws if you ask me

i Will say 105.3 sounded very weak yesterday.. 3,2,1 before the clients begin to drop out.
If the 105.3 signal is bad, you can always listen to the originating station…….oh wait……😵‍💫😖🤣🤣🤣🤣
Probably turned down the power to take these pictures. :ROFLMAO:
I had the same thought. The only real way to determine the actual transmitter power would be with an unannounced FCC “raid”, and even then I would have an agent elsewhere with a field strength meter, just in case the owner is tipped off and tries to reduce the power remotely.

I didn't check yesterday but 92.5 and 105.3 seem to be back to their higher power right now.

I guess if we see KFNC HD turn on we know the FCC is in town

The only way I see those pictures really being true is that's the power to the south going down 288. That seems to be their only null

50 watts FWD and 24 watts RFL? Half the power coming back to the transmitter? Something doesn't seam right.
Could be a prop transmitter connected to a crappy dummy load. The pictures don't have any geolocation exif tags on them so it's hard to tell...
