Nationwide Emergency Alert Test Planned For October 4 - Radio, TV and Cell Phones

If this notification was supposed to be sent to TV, would this sort of TV be included? Would I have heard/seen something had I been watching one of our area's network affiliates on YouTube TV?

It went over Comcast’s cable system. Not sure how they handle the streaming side.
 
Out of curiosity, when is the last time a national test like this happened? Or is this the first time?
 
I could have sworn it was 2:15 on my phone, with radio following around 2:20. I had WIMZ (Knoxville) on, and heard some of the rest of the daisy chain following.

In right-wing radio, the test was a leftist plot to something something election interference.
 
I thought the previous thing like this was the presidential alert of 2018.

I say, yet another from the left I should ignore. I'd listen carefully if not for the lies and intentional put downs. So that makes me nothing politically. Both play this game. As for what my boss once said, "If what you have to say has value, why do you have to criticize the other viewpoint to make yours look better?"

Can we have a Radio Discussion without constant attempts to politicize or cut down?
 
No one in my community got the alert on our phones.. yay for a jalopy hunk of junk 2G system

Bill, I have never had more respect and admiration for you than I do right now. This forum sadly mirrors what has become of our society. We have always disagreed with each other, depending on the topic of discussion, but at one time we used to have authentic, civilized conversations with each other that when over, we had a firm understanding of the other person's point of view and come away from the conversation with a better understanding and appreciation of the other person's perspective. Now, it has become I'm right and you're stupid. That's not on what this country was built. It's not for what my father, and my mother's father went to war. I am, like you, a Texan, a God fearing man, and a proud American. I'm absolutely fed up with reading the blasphemy and sheer disrespect for those of us who do believe in a higher power.

So, with that being voiced, I am going to say it how I was reared hearing it from the old guard, and let the chips fall where they may. I am a white, Texas born and bred, gun toting, meat eating, small town loving country boy. I am proud of my heritage, I am proud of my family's service to this nation, and I am proud to know God and fully believe in his existence. I am a sinner. I am not an exemplary Christian, and I cuss like a sailor. I fall short, and I excel in life every single day. I see people like Joel Osteen and Benny Hinn as false prophets, which are clearly described in the Bible. I believe that every life matters, regardless of color, creed, or belief. Even dogs and cats matter to me. They need care, compassion, love and affection, too. Antifa, much like the Klan or the Skinheads, can kiss the darkest part of my butt. I remain unvaccinated, as does the entirety of my family, and have absolutely no intention of ever allowing myself to be jabbed. If the kids ever choose to, that's there choice. I have never once worn a mask. Not once. I've offered people the chance, on quite a few occasions, to put one on me if they thought they were big enough. None succeeded. If it makes you feel more at ease to wear one, please do, but I won't because of what it represents to me. I don't want a man in a woman's bathroom, or vice versa, and if my daughter were still a child and I found some guy dressed as a woman in there with her, I would end up in jail for beating the holy hell out of him/her/it. If any of what I just penned offends you, makes you disgusted, tags me as a racist, bigot, homophobe or simply an ass hole, tough. That's me, and that's how I'll go to my grave, and when I rise back up from it, it will be to meet Jesus in the skies.

By the way, I never got the alert on my phone, and neither did my wife. All 3 of my offspring did, however. We did air the test at the gig.

Thank you, Bill, for speaking up. I never bothered, because (as I said) I am not the best Christian in the world and I am pretty ashamed that I didn't before today. I figured, what's the use? I'm not going to change their minds anymore than they are going to change mine. It's the main reason I have been hanging out in the Games section of the site, and don't get involved in a majority of the topics here. Obviously, I am also not a very good witness, and I'll have to answer for that when it's my turn in line and the Book is opened up on me.

I monitored the one in 2011, and I think 2018 or 19. People were trying to go to court to stop Donald Trump from calling their phone as I recall.
