Yeah, think of a leaseback like you give up your house, but rather than leave, you're akin to being a guest rather than an actual resident officially living in it. That's kinda what Salem's doing.
 
To add to it's financial woes, Salem Media has reached a settlement in the lawsuit over its film 2000 Mules:


They will cease distribution of the film.

The apology from Salem came as part of a larger settlement to the lawsuit filed by Andrews. A representative for Protect Democracy, a nonprofit group that sued Salem on behalf of Andrews, did not comment on the terms of the settlement. Neither did a representative for Salem.

Damn that Salem lawsuit resembles the ones when Fox News, Newsmax and OAN got sued for defamation by Dominion and Smartmatic. Yes this is the same one that got Rudy Giuliani removed from WABC Radio in New York because of this.
 
I don't understand how a company, built supposedly on Christian principles, could hawk a film with so many lies. And have its hosts do the same?

Salem wants its Conservative Talk stations to be profitable. I get that. And I guess it got carried away with telling Trump voters he really won, even though extensive recounts in the two closest states, Arizona and Georgia, showed he lost. Arizona spent millions of dollars and had a pro-Trump group painstakingly recount every vote, examine every ballot. And they found out Biden actually won with a few hundred more votes than first thought. This was after Fox News already declared Biden the winner of Arizona on Election Night.

Yet here's a conservative Christian broadcasting company backing a crazy film, where Dinesh D'Souza set out to deliver a result pleasing to Trump voters, no matter where the facts took him. And Salem hosts all had to get on the air and say how wonderful it was.

So now this Christian company, supposedly guided by being truthful and accurate, has to apologize to someone smeared in the film, give him a settlement and remove it from its platform.

Salem should have stuck with their networks with Christian music and legitimate teaching programs that didn't get political and stayed out of the pro-Trump and anti-vaccine garbage they sank into on their talk network, and I think a lot of their financial troubles are a result of it.

Yes if only Salem management considered looking into the strategy of EMF.

But then again one of their stars like Larry Elder ran for office and it put the company in an odd place especially given that KRLA Los Angeles was the home station to Larry Elder before he went into politics.

The legal implications related to the defamation surrounding 2020 and 2022 elections continue to pile up as the media outlets dependent on Trump continue to face legal implications in multiple states. In this case it's Rudy Giuliani who continues to face multiple legal issues in multiple states that sparked WABC Radio to remove him in the past month.
