Greensboro Ratings May 2024 - KZL Continues To Trend Upward

As usual, Audacy has a lock on the top 3. But check out WKZL - since December 2023, it's trended 2.5-2.5-3.5-3.7-4.3-4.4 to now a 4.8, good enough for 6th place.

As for Hits? They're now in a 3-way tie for 12th with a Mexican station and a public radio station out of Chapel Hill.

Also, both country stations are tied in 7th place at 4.3.

WPTI is slipping badly relatively to other conservative talkers, too.

I don’t think the market can support 2 CHR’s. Hits/Radio Now/Kiss has given KZL a run for their money a few times, but I wonder if IHeart is satisfied with its performance? I’m not sure what else they could do with it, they got burned with urban AC badly before.

Greensboro has two Top 40 - CHR stations. But no Hot AC.

Maybe WMKS HIts 100.3 should consider moving in that direction?

iHeart isn’t going to try hot AC and get too close to WMAG which is one of If not its most successful stations in the cluster.

They could try urban AC again, but they got their butts handed to them with that on 105.7 as Kiss FM.

My prediction is Hits continues as is for now at least. I don’t see a better option, although as I’ve mentioned, maybe they should swap CHR and rock again since Real Rock is outperforming Hits on a less superior signal.
